//Video: Chris Brown Makes Public Apology To Rihanna And Fans//
On June 22, Chris Brown took responsibility for assaulting fellow pop star Rihanna the in February — the morning before both were to perform at the Grammy awards. The 20-year-old singer pled guilty to felony assault and was handed 180 days community service along with five years probation.
For many fans and critics, that wasn’t good enough. They felt that even though he released a statement saying he was “sorry and sadden” weeks after the brawl inside his rented Lamborghini that left 21-year-old Rihanna bloody and bruised, he needed to do more. For starters, he needed to directly mention the incident — in his statement he only admits to being sorry “over what transpired” — and he needed to mention Rihanna by name.
The critics get everything they want today.
Brown released a 2-minute long video on his ChrisBrownTV YouTube channel to apologize directly to his fans for his actions.
“Since February, my attorney has advised me not to speak out even though ever since the incident I wanted to publically express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility,” he says in the video. “I felt it was time you heard directly from me that I am sorry.”
He continues, “I’m very sad and very ashamed of what I’ve done. My mother and my spiritual teachers taught me way better than that.”
“I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I am truly, truly sorry.”
He mentions growing up in a household where he saw what “uncontrolled rage can do” and says he is “doing everything in my power to make sure that it never happens again.”
“I intend to live my life so that I am truly worthy of the term ‘role model’.”

Coming from a home where domestic violence was a weekly if not a daily occurrence my biggest fear was that i would carry on the cycle. Luckily for me I broke it and it has never occurred in the home I have made for myself. I would like to wish Chris Brown all the best. He has made terrible mistake but he has said all he needs to say – all he can say – and he is seeking help. Please let him get on with his live.
