VH1′s ‘I am woman, hear me outsing the next chick’ celebration, also known as VH1 Divas, is back after a four year hiatus.
The concert, which promises to bring together divas of the new school with the divas who paved the way, will take place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York and air live on Thursday, September 17.
Just announced to head the bill are four female performers of varying divatude: British songbirds Adele and Leona Lewis, and American-made singers Kelly Clarkson and Miley Cyrus.
“Adele, Kelly, Leona and Miley have all captured the world’s attention with their talent and have earned their designation as VH1 Divas this year,” said Lee Rolontz, VH1′s EVP of Original Music Production & Development, in the press release. “Don’t let some of their young ages fool you – these women are among the best entertainers in the world and will continue to thrill music fans for a long time to come.â€
Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kelly Clarkson is better than a “Diva”
WoW! I knew Miley was a bit of a workaholic. She’ll be on tour on the west coast at Tacoma, WA.(outside Seattle) on wednesday. Fly out to do VH1 Divas on thursday; and, be back on her tour performing in Oakland, CA. on friday. Wow! Are you sure this is going to be live?
Can’t wait to see Kelly, Adele and Leona on this. They are vocal powerhouses. Miley?!? Not so sure. NOOOO to Katy Perry and Rihanna. Sorry, they’re not the best live singers. Yes to Christina, Beyonce. Maybe to Gaga. Not sure she’s done enough. Although I guess if Adele and Leona are there after only one record, then Gaga should qualify as well.
