I got both of her albums and I was blown away with both. She has a great voice, and she gets a nice sum of fans being a Disney star, but being a Disney star also wards off potential fans. Being a singer for Disney, Nick or any children channel makes people think that they have immature songs that are overly poppy, but I could practically promise you that you play them a song and not tell them the artist, they'll go download a track or two off itunes. One of my friends got her song La La Land just because it mentioned McDonalds and now considers Demi as a favorite artist, and I've heard comments like,''I try to hate Demi, but she's so good.'' The same thing is kind of similar with Jennette McCurdy. She's a great country artist, and my only issue with her first song So Close is that the opening sounds too poppy, but other than that, great vocals and lyrics. But Demi's vocals on Got Dynamite... she aced that track, even though she didn't write it. Catch Me is written by her, though, and I love how well she expresses emotion. Every Time You Lie, Falling Over Me (with Jon McLaughlin, another of my fav artist) and World of Chances (with John Mayer, another fav) are other memorable ones. I didn't really mind that So Far, So Great was on the cd (she owned that track with her vocals), but I agree that Disney wanted it on there. But that track used for that Tinkerbell movie or whatever could've been left off. Maybe they thought if they had Disney tracks on the cd, people would buy it, I don't know. It seemed randomly put in, where So Far So Great fit in a little more. All in all, Demi has a good cd. She should get radio play, and hopefully the Disney thing won't hold potenital fans back.
