New York’s Central Park was the place to be this morning as three of American Idol’s biggest stars rocked it for Good Morning America’s summer concert series.
Adam Lambert, Kris Allen, and David Cook each took turns performing — Adam with Muse’s “Starlight,” Kris with Kanye West’s “Heartless,” and David with his own “Come Back To Me” — before joining their star power for an awesome team up on “Little Lies.”

I saw David cook last night at the Times Square Nokia Theatre..and it was an amazing night, It’s great to be witness to such an incredible, natural talent, at a “tangible” point in the beginning of his career. He’s not arrogant, cocky or so so far displaced…he is a genuinely creative, real and unbelievable talent, and i feel fortunate to have been able to witness his music live, at an intimate venue…in the middle of times square.
( ironic, i know…) I know years of Fame and Success will come from such an incredible artist…and it’s good to have the honor of being a true and loyal fan…from the beginning…from the decleration of his career.
I hope DAvid remembers NYC, b ecasuse this NYC girl will remember him.
GMA was nice. Would love to have heard more of Adam :-) Kris was good and I do like David too. Adam was gorgeous and his scaled down version was beautiful. Adam’s voice is always AMAZING!! I think I like the tour version of Starlight better, but he is always good at doing things fresh and new. Would have loved to see him performing more!!!

How fun was that?! I enjoy how they all love what they do and that they each have a heart to entertain their fans! 3 very different talents; all wonderful :o)
I don’t know how Adam does it, but Muse was simply perfection. David is great, I love his voice and style, but not a fan of the song. Kris was good.I have to say I don’t know who’s plaid shirt I hated worse, Kris or David. Plaid is best left to table clothes.
You see, both Kris and David are from the midwest and casual dress makes them seem approachable (just normal guys) to those of us who live in Missouri and Arkansas. I know it seems a bit strange to be in Times Square in plaid shirts, but I imagine these guys are just more comfortable in those clothes. Their talent shines through no matter how they are dressed.

I love both versions of Adam’s starlight. Also, he sure knows how to dress. I agree with the poster who noted the plaid shirts need to go back to tables. Looks like Kris trying to ape David’s look.
I love Kris voice!!!! amazing. Dont really cared about Adam and David, they are more of a rocker that a fine song. Just like wine, Adam and David are Beers, Allen is a fine expensive wine…. you can drink but not get drank…

Kris can only sing HeartLess one way and there’s no other way he can sing any better, he never change up anything to any of his song. As u can see the the applaud of the crowd are so soft, they are only doing it out of respect. But did u hear how the crow ROARs when it’s Adam and David? That is the applaud of excitement/appreciatives of a GREAT talents of Adam and David. The crow are enjoying every moment those two sang. Screaming crowds are for Adam and David. Kris on the trio looks pathetic, the backup singer that playing guitar did so much better than Kris. Sorry but your Kris is LOST in the crowd. Did he sing???? You know for a person that doesn’t know a good singer when they spotted one should not make any comments to the Singers that is Incredibly talented. You can like Kris Allen as much as you want, he only does ONE level of voice. For Adam and David they are one of the BEST singer out there. They really know how to SING and use their voice.
Soooo AllenFan is that why they replaced the “NO Boundaries” song on the tour? Guess why they ended up of changing it with a song that does not requires HI-Notes. Well, Kris Allen will not have a voice after he sing it a couple of times in the tour. So American Idol doesn’t wanna embarrass themselves and Kris Allen. They are all have the same conclusion he is absolutely no doubt Excellent singer/performer, and they all know that He is the winner of the American Idol. They all have one comments to Kris Allen he is layback and BORING they are still questioning how the HELL he pull it off as the Idol winner on season 8.
OMG Kris is the type of guy you can hear in any joe blow coffee shop on the other hand Adam and David Rock!! Adam’s range is just incrediable I love his voice. I love David Cook he has a great voice too just different fom Adams. Kris sorry but you are just not in the same class as those two.

This was great! All three sounded really good in their solo numbers. Love that David Cook song – it reminds me of my ex gf – ha! He seems like a very cool guy too. Starlight is one of my favorite Muse songs so that was interesting to hear, and Kris on Heartless was his best performance of the season. I liked both Adam and Kris on Idol this year (my wife loves the show and was a huge fan of Allison), but I have to say that I did find Adam a little screechy during parts of Little Lies. David Cook absolutely rocked that song though – his voice is killer.

Love both Adam and Kris and they did great on Little Lies even though you know the 3 Idols didn’t get much rehearsal time in. You can see a pic of Adam holding a torn sheet of paper b4 the show, no doubt the lyrics. So it was a real treat to get to see the 3 of them perform together, esp. w their crazy tour schedules.
David Cook and his band rocked the stage and took Kradam to the School of Rock. They have put together a fantastic band (altho they are changing bass guitar) and their live shows are great. I got to see them on the college part of the Declaration Tour. His (almost 100) concerts are almost all sellouts and his album is platinum even in today’s complete meltdown of the music industry and “free” downloads. His audience have been up to 15,000 in the US and 115,000 with Archie in the Philippines. Once you get past the 2 singles his label released, his sound is totally unique. His album just gets better the more you listen and has become the soundtrack to my life. Doesn’t hurt that he is sexy, single and a great guy.
Kris and Adam are unique too and I think they will be successful during the next year once they are out of the Idol bubble. They will just find it much more difficult out in the real world of today’s music industry than in American Idol world.
An open letter to David Cook:
I was at the Nokia show last night. Listen, dude I like your music and bought the CD, but for the love of Jestro, get the fuck off the road and regroup.
You’re getting lazy. You’re pandering to the frau. And you’re boring as shit because of it. Do you know that at least 200 people in the back were leaving before your show was over?
In case you’ve forgotten, people don’t leave a concert in a venue that doesn’t involve parking lots unless they are done listening to you. And who knows whether it was a one-off for them? Remember, these are the people who DON’T show up at a rock show dressed like they’re going to Loews’s garden center and plan on going right from shopping to working on their yard. And they didn’t wear “Cougars for AC/DC” shirts if they happened to see them play in the city last week.
Instead, you pander to a group of people who specifically came to NYC to see you perform. And rather than spending a hot August day sightseeing, shopping, visiting a national landmark or visiting a museum, they chose to waste their day standing out on 44th Street. They congested pedestrian traffic and made it a royal pain in the ass for anyone who works in the offices on that corner to get in and out of their offices. And they left a shitload of garbage on the street.
Last night you said “I can’t believe I’m playing a rock show in NYC.” Guess what, you can’t believe it because you DIDN’T. Get your ass down to someplace like Crash Mansion, Santos Party House, Arlenes or the Mercury, stand in the back and watch. And pay attention to what front men for REAL rock bands do in NYC.
Would a frontman for a REAL rock band make a joke about finding an olive on the stage? Probably, but Steven Tyler would probably ask who the fuck was drinking dirty martinis onstage.
Would a frontman for a REAL rock band throw said olive out to the front rows and make depracating comments about how said olive would end up on eBay? Nope, because not even Bon Jovi tards would be interested in TRASH just because John or Ritchie touched it.
Would a REAL rock star then acknowledge the olive owner when she asked if you’d trade it for a pic? I’m sure they would…right after he spent a couple of minutes heckling them about how they aren’t fucking Bob Barker/Drew Carey/Monty Hall and this isn’t the fucking Price is Right or Let’s Make a Deal.
Even though reality famemongers like Bret Michaels do play “all ages” shows, he doesn’t edit himself in case some moron allowed her 10 year old to watch Rock of Love and is in the audience.
Oh, and if you’re not saying “fuck” a few times on stage because you’re think you’re going to offend the frau, than wave bye-bye and tell them to go back to chasing Taylor Hicks. (Who has done FABOULOUSLY post Idol just because a man not shy to swear like a sailor onstage pre-Idol chose to pander to frau.)
If you don’t swear because the frau squeal everytime you say shit, they’ll do the same thing if you scratch you picked your nose onstage and ate the booger.
With apologies to women everywhere…. You’re a man. You have the “how to be a fucking douchebag tool” gene in you. Every man knows how to be an absolute shit to a girl.
Get out there, look at what’s in the front row…and use every trick you and you’re buddies ever learned about how to be a dick. And use it to kick the frau to the curb.
Or the next time you’re doing an appearance in a J.C. Penney, you’ll be singing in front of the shoe department.

Hey AllenFan, the only screaming on the show was your guy and David Cook. That old arguement is dead and gone. Adam can sing anything, any way possible and it sounds fantastic!!!!He’s a superstar. These other guys will be just a passing memory before long……
I agree Kris will go nowhere in a career, but David Cook has a very good career ahead of him. He does need to look sharper tho, he’s getting as sloppy as Kris looks.

In the meantime, I’m the same age as Cook, and there are a whole lot of us (girls and guys) who like his music past and present (David has made at least 9 previous albums, in bands and solo). I was on the right balcony in The Nokia last night with my gang and all night looked down into a sea of people who were enjoying themselves. If 20, let alone 200 people had left we would most certainly have noticed. Even the non-fans in my group liked the show. He’s a great singer, a terrific performer, and comes across as just a genuine and good guy.

You can’t understand Cook when he sing – He need a SPEECH THERAPY ! His music sound the same and nothing amazing only his die hard fans will say so otherwise. Yes, his album is platinum but the irony of it nobody listen.

I think Adam did the gentleman thing by letting David do the show and not outshine him as we well know that he can. Adam really looks tired too,they should let the man rest. Adam, David and then Kris is my preference in the order of greatness. I do believe there is no need for raw side effects such as cursing to enjoy the moment. Go Adam!!!!!!
I thought of the three performers Adam was the best, then David Cook, then Kris Allen in that order. Number one Adam sounded the best and was dressed the best for the show. Even though I like David Cook also he should definitely wear a nicer shirt at least and Kris allen also. I guess they are definitely not into fashion like Adam his, That is part of Adam’s appeal to women also since he does dress nice all the time. Adam definitely looked like he did not want to outshine anyone on stage especially being with David Cooke since I think he likes him personally. As far as Adam screaching I don’t know what people are talking about, he reaches high notes most people cannot even dream of. I found it quite interesting though when David Cooke announced Adam Lambert first then Kris Allen even though Kris was coming on stage first??? Maybe there will be some kind of music made between David and Adam. I believe they actually sounded good together on stage because Adam has the higher range voice while David has a more hard edge voice, they complemented each other. And for prometheus do you think he has something against David Cooke??? You can still be a nice guy and be able to entertain women, look at Adam he goes from being a tiger on stage to very nice gentle guy off stage.
Prometheus doesn’t have somethinga against David Cook, he has a thing about middle-aged fat women who are David Cook fans. He doesn’t think middle-aged fat woman should be at concerts, or that they should be a fan of a singer in his 20’s. I guess Prometheus thinks middle-aged fat woman should just stay home and eat. On his website he calls them fan-tards. He must have had a bad relationship with a middle-aged fat woman.

Now… for my take on the day, complete and utter amazing sauce! KRADAM + COOK, what musical palate was not stroked, IDEK! They all are amazing and deserve respect for all the hard work they are putting into doing what they love. One could not help but smile when they watched Kris Allen dance around that stage with utter happiness in his eyes. Maybe y’all just jealous because your lives suck!!!!

David Cook was awesome, but I thought Kris stole the show with “Heartless”. Every time I hear him sing that, it’s better than the last time. I find it so creative and original the way he twisted that song… good for him. And Kris looks amazing out there. I don’t like to compare these three because they are three different styles, with all great voices… Adam did a great job, David rocked the house, and Kris impressed. They were all awesome and the right 3.
First of all, Adam does not “screech” or “scream”, and those of you saying so are obviously arrogantly wanting something against him, when you know that the guy can sing very well. There’s a difference between being able to hit high notes and screaming, and Adam can hit high notes.
Second, Kris Allen’s take on Kanye West’s “Heartless” was brilliant and original. KAREN, the only negative comments about Kris are coming from you. You’re sinking as low as to talk about his clothing. You have nothing better to do? There was NOTHING special about Kanye West’s original version or “Heartless”, and it is a good song, and Kris Allen sang it the way it SHOULD have been sung. Obviously, Kris doesn’t have the range of Adam and David, but that doesn’t make him any less of a musician. He has this deep, bass register that he doesn’t use much, but when he does it sounds great. Kris Allen is a clever, creative artist with a ton of potential.
Obviously, David ruled the stage, because he’s been doing this for a year now. I think putting these three together who have completely different styles/musical tastes, and comparing them doesn’t make sense. It’s like comparing Michael Jackson to Jason Mraz to Chris Daughtry. It doesn’t make any sense. I thought Adam’s version of “Starlight” was good… it was actually kind of sad this time, but I prefer the faster version. Kris Allen’s “Heartless” was spot-on key and sounded great. David Cook’s “Come Back To Me” was perfection. I thought all the three of them together… Adam looked a tad out of place, I don’t think he knew what to do with himself, because the last song was just David Cook pretty much everywhere, and Adam’s used to being the performing one. Kris, I thought, performing-wise has improved so much. As for clothing, Adam’s was a little overboard, this is freaking NYC Central Park, what the hell is wrong with dressing comfortable and wearing a plaid shirt? I thought Kris looked so gorgeous, and the pink works on David.
