When Adam Lambert covers a song, he transforms it into something fresh and new. Some might even say into something more enticing than the original.
Muse’s “Starlight” got the epic Adam treatment when the American Idol season 8 runner-up started performing it on the Idols Live summer tour. He recently woke up early to perform it on Good Morning America and sent fans into a frenzy to have it to listen to over and over away from their computers.

LOVING Adam’s version of Starlight. He does it differently in concert, but boy can he change it up. Oh and he’s SO beautiful!!!!
The harder version in concert is great – but, the softer side that I heard in Central Park is what brings me to tears!

He goes from glam to acoustic and makes the song something else entirely. He is an incredibly talented performer.
I’ve been so curious about Adam Lambert ever since the media exposure he has been receiving have been so enormous as compared to any of the previous AI finalists. I was really wondering what he really has why the attention he gets was just too much. Watching the recent GMA concert have I realized that he glowed like a star singing “Starlight – Acoustic Version” while seated down during the whole rendition. His voice was incredibly powerful, his face radiated godly looks, and his stage presence was simply impeccable. His performance generated the most applause and it was pretty obvious that the majority of the audience was in awe as they watched and listened to him. I really would not be surprised if he becomes an instant superstar now that the world has discovered him.

I saw Adam live at two tour stops and he is the show. He brings to the stage an electrifying performance. His sound is mesmerizing and you can not take your eyes off of his six foot one inches of manly perfection. From what others have reported, Adam came up with this “Starlight” arrangement in minutes. Not only is his crystal clear voice beautiful he is an amazing artistic and technical singer. Adam is the first American Idol to have what it takes to be a world class musical icon.
Agree with everything Kerry, you said it well. I also believe Simon is right, same thing, that we have finally found an international superstar in Adam. He is heaven on earth, from his otherworldly magnificent voice, to his gorgeous looks. I really like that he took the time to dress beautifully for the outdoor concert, it’s a small thing, but really that’s what you want to see in a star, the whole package and Adam is definitely that!

I thought he did a fantastic job on this song. He just shows how he can create something totally new and fresh each time. He looked amazing on the show also. His face was just beaming that day. I think he was excited his mom could be there also to see the fans reactions.
I checked out Lambert’s concert version of Starlight on YouTube and felt that it compared well with the original Muse. I still prefer the original and I’m not as enthusiastic about the ‘daytime’ version but it was probably more appropriate for 5a.m. and, if he came up with it on the fly, I am really impressed. It was different in a pretty good way.
I am also a fan of MUSE. I flew to England to watched their concert. Love the original and Adam’s version used in the Idol concerts. Starlight is not an easy song to sing but you really can trust Adam to sing this song really really well. His strip down /acoustic version sang in GMA concert was fantastic. I never thought i will hear Starlight in acoustic. So proud of Adam. He really is a very good singer.
Are you kidding??? I was there – and I can assure you, Adam’s rendition was nothing short of brilliant…5am or midnight…What’s the difference? Brilliant is brilliant any time of day or night!
adam was brilliant on GMA–he is constantly changing things up but his voice remains flawless. I love both versions of this song. A star is born!

This unplugged Starlight by Adam was brilliant. He continues to surprise and AWE is audience. He is truly a gifted and amazing artist.

Don’t get me wrong, Adam Lambert is brilliant, and I agree that many of his song renditions have been as good as, or even better, than the originals. However… “Starlight” is not one of them; having compared them against Muse’s original, IMO, Adam’s versions come off more as “Star-lite”. By a very large margin, the original arrangement, instrumentals, and Matt Bellamy’s vocals, far outshine either of the versions Adam performs. I still love Adam Lambert, and am sure he’s going to be a major star, but hopefully performing compositions that are more suited to his ability, which, as far as I am concerned, excludes 99% of Muse’s music.
OMG! His performance was incredible!! His voice sounds so pure and emotional and sensitive… he touches my heart and almost cry. Here, in Latin America we are crazy with Adam, we search all information about him in the news and webs and YouTube and I think: you are so lucky, you can watch him in live! and you criticism him? You don’t know you have! You have a superstar and I wonder all the attackes Adam receives… Is so sad to see that. In Latin America we support him and will support in the future no matter what, and I hope Adam come to us, because in Latin America we love him and respect him as singer, artist and person.
In Good Morning America one more timne Adam shows us the real quality of a true artist, and he open the music to people that don’t like Muse, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Bowie… a lot of people don’t like all this band or artist, but Adam changes that and now the people can enjoy this songs in the marvellous Adam’s version.

Love the soft version of starlight,so fresh and sweet
The only I can say is that I do not understand how Kris Allen can live with himself knowing that he got the title and the big reward, which he did not deserve. He has no conscience, in my opinion. Had he had conscience, he should say that the title and the reward belong to Adam Lambert, all the world knows and speaks about that. Kris Allen is nobody comparely to Adam Lambert, to his talent, to his personal qualifications. Adam is an amazing person and a great talent. Kris is a pale performer, why the producers of the show have decided to give him the reward? Probably, they are Christians, the same as Kris. In my opinion, the Juri, which would be consisted of only professionals, must decide who is the greatest talent. Not the producers of the show, and definitely, not the voting public. I think that Paula Abdul was not offered the contract for the 2009 American Idol because she was so admirable about Adam’s talent. The producers did not like it, since Paula’s opinion was not coinsided with their decision, which it was done far before the end of the competition.
I do not think that Adam should sing together with Kris. That would mean that Adam’s glory will be half-consumed by Kris. Kris does not deserve any glory, and Adam should not help Kris to become famous under Adam’s wing. Adam, you do not need Kris, he needs you for his existance on the stage, because of this he plays your best friend. It is not so, he uses you. Please think of your own career only, do not work on somebody’s career, whose artificial upward flight will be soon forgotten. Kris cannot give to musical culture anything, since he has nothing to offer. Leave him alone, Adam, keep distance from him and continue working on your own career. Love you very much, Adam, all the world recognizes your great talent and loves you.

I think that Adam has a very unique talent.
I had the absolute honor of being there at GMA and hearing this amazing acoustic version of Starlight live. I was fortunate enough to be right up front. I’ve been to plenty of concerts, and I must say his voice in this song is quite possibly the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard. Ever.
Bonus: Adam is also an incredibly sweet guy.
