Miley Cyrus, Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers And More Perform On The 2009 Teen Choice Awards

The 2009 Teen Choice Awards was packed with performances by some of the hottest artists of the summer.
Miley Cyrus easily had one of the most controversial performances of the night with her new single “Party in the USA.” She made headlines for her brief pole dance in skimpy shorts, but what stood out more was the extremely shaky vocals throughout the performance. We’ll try to give her a pass since it was her first time performing the song and there was a lot of movement, but it HAS to get better from here, right!?
Other less offensive performances included the Jonas Brothers, who hosted and performed twice, Black Eyed Peas, and Sean Kingston.

I thought that Miley Cyrus’ performance was disgusting and completely inappropriate. Disney should really consider what kind of people they are putting out there to represent their good name. My daughter loves Hanna Montana and loves the Show, but after last nights performance that I only let my daughter see like 5 seconds of, I am going to sell my ticktes to her concert when she comes here in October, and hannah/Miley is history. We have enough skanks strutting there stuff around, I though that Miley was different. A real Role Model she turned out to be. Best of Both Worlds should be I’m from a different world. Good luck Miley and Robby, you lost a good fan and her mothers money.
I totally agree Elizabeth, I found the ‘performance’ totally disgusting!! I too had believed Miley was different. She has the talent to let it speak for her. Why Oh Why would she go down this sleazey path??
I loved her movie……we all did. Miley’s now taken away those pleasant memories with this act.
Hopefully she has someone around her who ‘lives in the realworld’ and can make her realize what a HUGE mistake it was, wearing that disgusting outfit and her act.

omg. mileys performace was absoulutally awful. i most of the time like her but last night i couldnt believe what she was wearing and how she was dancing. it was completely ridiculous and slutty. her parents were sitting in the audience, i cant believe they let her perform like that.

I agree, I was dissappointed with Miley’s performance that night. Her outfit was awful ans tasteless. She could do better than that. I wonder why her parents let her did that?
her parents are about getting that money, not protecting their daughter’s innocence. as soon as little noah turns 13, she’ll be spread eagle in some photo shoot too. billy ray was washed up before miley started making cash. he never wants to go back to being just that achy breaky heart fool ever again. his motto is lets whore the girls out yall!

I think that miley did nothing wrong she is almost 17 by the time you all were seventeen im sure you all did something your friends and family thought were wrong and distasteful I think that she did a great job and what was her whole dance on the pole 2 seconds where she squatted and the shorts were not that revealing so back off you same people are the reason britney had an emotional breakdown and anyways this was the nickelodeon teen choice awards not disney

Are you a parent? it doesn’t seem so….her fans are CHILDREN and she is to be a role model NOT and pole model. Her clothes were too revealing. I know she is 16 HOWEVER being a household name she DOES have certain standards to stand up to and with this act she has fallen flat on her face!
oh yeah nobody says anything about fergie wearing skin tight black leather pants so whats the difference they are both performing for teenagers not kids
Fergie is not looked upon as setting an example for my 8 year old to look up to. Miley has a responsiblity as a teen idol to set a good example for the people who are saving their money to purchase her product. If she and her parent would look in the at the faces at her concerts maybe they would see the age group that is making her so rich. Then maybe the famous family would re-adjust the clothing and the preformance. If this is a sample of the type show she is putting on now may I as a parent will guide my child to a better more suitable performer, and maybe Disney needs to find a replacement performer. I like Miley, but I think we have seen this happen some other teen star that got their start the same place. Where are they now???????? On the cover of every mag. with only bad publicity. Come on Miley and Billy find good taste again. The money is still there if you can overcome this tasteless mishap. I am a undecided fan right now

umm..why are you defending her? i like miley, but her performance wasnt very age appropriate for anybody. shes 17 not a 30 year old prostitute. i actually dont think she was pole dancing or anything, but they could have put something a little less controversial on the ice cream cart or her to hang on to like a railing. and i actually liked the song a lot. but her outfit was horrible. like her whole bra showing was completly innopropriate. her performance was for a teen audience! the song was good though=]

Miley is 16. Everything she does is preapproved. The more controversy she has, the more money everyone makes on her. This was another bad move on her parents’ part; she is a teenager and when we all were teenagers, we didn’t think about what someone’s mom thought. Everyone should just talk to the kids and let them know why it is so wrong and use this as a learning tool. I love miley’s music. She is a talented kid but she is still just a kid.

OMG! IM so fucking sad and pissed. I watched this stupid video on YOUTUBE called PRAY FOR JONAS. I only watched it cuz my brother told me they say a PRAYER for the JONAS BROTHERS and that it was nice. WRONG! These two guys beat up this man cuz he had a jONAS BROTHERS POSTER on his wall. They called him a fag and made him BURN THE POSTER and watch it burn and the poor guy was crying as he watched it. Is there any way we can get the video TAKEN DOWN. Maybe we can ask YOUTUBE!?”

U people have no idea what your talking about. If u dont want ur CHILDREN seeing that then they shouldnt be watching the TEEN choice awards! And as for her outfit, she looks fine! Go anywhere, look around and u’ll see that every teen wears those shorts! Not because they want to look slutty, but because they want 2! Her parents let hr wear them because there is nothing wrong with it! And if u didnt hear she quit hannah montana. Now ur kids dont have 2 see her acting slutty. she’s singing to an older audience so ur kids shouldnt be watching or listening to her if u have a problem with her. she has plenty of teenage fans who love her.
