New Music: Mr. Hudson – Supernova (Live String Quartet Version)

Mr. Hudson

Mr. Hudson

Chances are you’re probably already familiar with London-based singer/songwriter Mr. Hudson from his collaborations with Kanye West. He’s featured on Yeezy’s “Paranoid” from his album, 808s and Heartbreak, and let Kanye have the second verse of his very own song, “Supernova.” The song ended up skyrocketing to No. 2 on the UK songs chart this summer.

If you thought “Supernova” sounded great on wax, then you’ll love the stripped down version Hudson performed with a string quartet for BBC2’s Dermot radio show. Devoid of any showy production and Kanye’s overbearing vocoder singing, the track takes on a whole new emotion life. The feelings of love and near-lost are even more heartfelt, just as the song was intended to be.
