She went on a Carnival Ride on her last album, and now Carrie Underwood is deciding she still wants to ‘play.’
The country crossover cutie and American Idol season 4 winner will release her highly anticipated third album, Play On, on November 3.
The album finds Underwood collaborating with long-time producing partner Mark Bright who previously produced the majority of both Carnival Ride and her debut album, Some Hearts.
Also working with Carrie on the album is R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who’s famous for writing hits for fearless female artists like Beyonce and Rihanna. “I had never met him before,” Carrie told USA Today’s Idol Chatter. “He’s a very nice gentleman. It was really nice of him to just come and see what we could do.”
Although their writing session yielded an “awesome song,” Underwood isn’t sure if it will make the finished product. “I’m not sure if it fits within the context of the rest of the album, but there is no doubt in my mind that somebody somewhere is going to record this song.”
