Lets face it: Britney Spears is an artist who will never be known for spectacular vocals. Addictive pop tunes? Sure! Terrific dancer? Yes, in her hey day that is. But you will almost never hear someone say “good god Britney slayed those vocals!”
That’s not to say certain songs doesn’t fit her voice. Besides, you don’t necessarily need to have epic vocals to do a certain song justice. This was the case when Britney bravely took on Alanis Morissette 90′s gem You Oughta Know during her Circus tour’s Greensboro, North Carolina stop.
Did she take out a knife and murder the vocals? Absolutely not. But this tune worked well with her voice. How much of it she did live however is another story for another day. Check it!

That was actually pretty good. I think this style of music suits her voice a little better because its more of a raw rock vocal style. I liked it!

ok so i was actually at the show last night to see her sing this live. i have been to a britney show many years ago and you basically lip sang the whole show. but last night i have to say her singing this song, and i do mean SINGING!!, was my favorite part of the whole night!!! i think she did an awesome job with the cover!!!

i was at the greensboro show and i thought she was awesome i also seen her in pittsburg and i have never been to a better show!!! and as far as live goes i thought she was awesome you just have to be there to understand i have always loved her but i was very shocked at how great she did with that song!!!!
