New Music: Leona Lewis – Happy

Leona Lewis "Happy" cover - J Records
The problem with artists using the same songwriters and producers is eventually music starts to sound the same. Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce found themselves wrapped in controversy when it was discovered their Ryan Tedder-penned and produced singles “Already Gone” and “Halo” could be first cousins sonically. Now you can add Leona Lewis‘ new song “Happy” to the list.
“Happy” is set to usher in Leona’s new album, Echo, due in November. She had massive success teaming up with Tedder on her breakout smash, “Bleeding Love,” but it might have been a good idea to go another way for the first single.
Don’t get me wrong, “Happy” is a beautiful song — the piano build-up fills the song with strong emotion and Leona’s voice gorgeous, chill-inducing — but with Beyonce and Clarkson’s songs still so fresh in the memory, this would have been a better choice as a second single.

it sounds nothing like halo or already gone…i think it actually sounds more like battlefield, than either of those.

Love Leona, she has become my favorite to look forward to artist, but I was expecting her first single to great! I wouldn’t choose this to be her frist single. Still she is awesone and so is her her voice!
