It was a busy TV day for Kid Cudi yesterday. He helped Jay-Z “Answer The Call” at the legendary Madison Square Garden, which aired on Fuse, then he appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman to perform his brand new single, “Pursuit of Happiness” featuring Ratatat.

Cudi’s performance on both stages bordered on extremely epic, but it was his extremely skinny skinny jeans that garnered most of the attention. He wasn’t sweating it though. “Mann haha my haters sooo mad i was wearin my skinnys performin wit jay,” he tweeted after seeing the flood of criticism on Twitter. ” HA! catch me on Letterman in a few with the EXACT same pair :).”

Kid Cudi’s debut album, Man on the Moon: The End of the Day, is in stores September 15.
