Blog Bits: Kanye West Apologizes To Taylor Swift: “I’m In The Wrong”

Kanye West has had many jerky moments at awards shows, but none can outdo what he did at tonight’s 2009 Video Music Awards.
Ye took to the stage to interrupt Taylor Swift as she accepted her award for Best Female Video — an award he felt belonged to Beyonce for her much-imitated “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”
The outburst didn’t go over well. Whenever his name was mentioned for the rest of the night, West was mercilessly booed. Separating herself from his rant, Beyonce allowed Swift to finish her speech during her win for Video of the Year.
Even though West made himself look like a heartless buttmunch, he took to his blog to explain his actions and apologize to Swift — in all caps, of course.

Why do incident like this bring out the racists? Maybe to remind the group in power that racism is live and well. And it isn’t coming from Kanye (although he’s a real tool) or any other black man. Personally, I have only seen the Lady Gaga video and Beyonce video that were nominated. I just don’t see videos much anymore since MTV has become a reality tv channel. I didn’t care much for the Beyonce video personally – I thought it was overhyped and she just danced around a bit – but I admire her for her talent. Lady Gaga was more theatrical, dramatic and entertaining to me. But I, even if I were a successful music artist, I would never presume to get on stage and pronounce my declaration that so-and-so was robbed and the winner didn’t deserve it.
