Kanye West Talks Taylor Swift VMAs Tirade, Performs With Jay-Z And Rihanna On The Premiere Of The Jay Leno Show

A somber Kanye West honored an impromptu interview request from Jay Leno during the premiere of his new show to talk about the now infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards tirade against country cutie Taylor Swift’s best female video win that happened just one day ago.
“Tell us about your day. Did you have a tough day today,” Leno joked with a very serious Kanye.
“It’s been extremely difficult dealing with the fact that I hurt or took something away from a talented artist.”
“It was just rude, period,” Kanye later explained of the incident.
When asked when he knew he was wrong, Kanye explained it was when he gave Taylor the microphone back to finish her acceptance speech, but the visibly shocked teen did not continue.
The entire appearance was not dedicated to the awards show brouhaha. It was, in fact, meant to promote Jay-Z’s current hit single Run This Town that features West and pop princess Rihanna.

Did you listen to his apology? He said that doesn’t excuse what he did. He was wrong and he said it. It’s sad that this is generating the amount of hate that Michael Vick’s dog fighting did. Everyone needs to realize that there are more important things to complain about.

Actually, it is that serious. This just reinforces what I referred to earlier. Your simple minded, nonchalant attitude is what makes this type of behavior acceptable. Ok I agree, Kanye did something unacceptable but he apologized! The guy was drunk and he didn’t know what he was doing, he was out of this mind. And he regrets it, so leave him alone.
I’m not saying that because I’m a fan, because honestly I don’t especially since he said that he was the “new king of pop”. But still, he didn’t kill someone!
What about Akon who did something really dirty with a minor during his concert, or Chris Brown who beat Rihanna…What he did is not that bad compared to what Chris Brown did.

Yeah, he didn’t kill someone but people are sick of the stupid shit he does – hasn’t he done this VMA thing 8 times? Maybe they should do a skit about him. There’s some sites on the internet that have jokes about him “Imma gonna let you finish” – pretty funny. I think all three of the performers you mentioned need a reality check. There are so many talented musical performers in each city performing at local bars/clubs who never get recording contracts or the success these three performers have. Wouldn’t hurt them to be grateful they have the chance to do something they love for a living – for a lot of $$$$.
Now you criticized Alicia for her OWN opinion of the situation and you did it very rudely. That is exactly the type of statement that IF your were famous would’ve been a big deal and turned into an ugly situation just for publicity reasons. That is what happened with the Kanye. No, it was not right what he did and he can’t take it back now but it happened. We do things like that all the time but it is not made public because we are nobodies. She did got her moment back which was an honorable thing for Beyonce to do. They just gave us something to talk about for the next couple of weeks which boost their stardom. They’re just videos – and Beyonce’s wasn’t clearly better, just different. Also, “shit happenz” refers to accidents. What Kanye, or “Ye” as you call him, did wasn’t an accident. He chose to walk onstage during an event on the show that had nothing to do with him – he wasn’t even nominated for that category.
He is still UNFORGIVEN! He took Taylor’s Momnet and made it about him self! I think that’s was really is getting under everone’s skin! And I haven’t liked him since the whole thing at the fasion show with Pink and Paul McCartney! “This fasion Show needs more fur!” Pink was right when she said he was a waist of skin! and he just proved it.. Some of Kanye’s fans are mad about the comments, but you seem to conveniently forget that HE CAUSED ALL OF THIS. He could have just sat in the audience like anyone else while Swift accepted her award. Also, he has a history of going onstage while other performers are receiving their awards and making inappropriate comments. Like any bad behavior, he’s the only one who can decide not to do things when he doesn’t like the consequences. I wasn’t much of a fan of either artist before this, doesn’t make me put a halo over Taylor Swift’s head now. I can’t understand why someone in their 30s who’s that successful would do something that immature, pointless, and weird, though – makes me wonder what he does with the rest of his day….. DEFINITELY not a fan, now.
