With all of the hoopla surrounding on stage antics and big performances, it’s easy to forget awards were handed out at last night’s 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Taylor Swift scored the first award handed out on stage of the night with her Best Female Video win for “You Belong With Me.” While accepting her award, she was infamously interrupted by Kanye West who felt the award should have gone to Beyonce for her “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” video.

Beyonce didn’t walk away empty handed, though. She took home three awards for her much-imitated video for Best Choreography, Best Editing, and Video of the Year.

Lady GaGa, who had one of the night’s most talked about performances, took home the big Best New Artist award, along with Best Special Effects, and Best Art Direction. She dedicated her award to her adoring fans, “God and the Gays.”

Other winners included Eminem for Best Hip Hop Video, Green Day for Best Rock Video, and Britney Spears for Best Pop Video.

Kanye West is a big loser. He thinks he is a good judge? Ha ha ha. Why you don’t have an award? Thanks to Beyonce, she save his life in music a bit. You deserved it Taylor Swift!

  2. Felix Murphy says:

I believe Kanya west is a real live hoe for doing that to a kid. I don’t think Beyonce needs any more damn awards no way with her no dancing ass. Kanya needs to be worried about getting his music back on track instead of trying to so call fight the power that be. Black man in Texas 77434

I think Kanye’s remark was childish and unprofessional. Kanye heres a tip, if you want to speak on the rights of our brothers and sisters get into politics or influence people through your music(oh thats too late cause you probaly dont have any fans left)Taylor Swift I didnt think you would win either but Im glad you did cause i love your music! Oh whoever said beyonce cant dance is a hater and is just mad cause they cant dance!

that was just wrong wrong… taylor is just as good as beyonce. i think they both are great singer’s. in my eye’s its a tie. kanye what do you think you mom would think of that. come on. you would not like anyone doing that to you. there’s a saying don’t do to others want; you don’t want done to you. maybe you should starting try to live by something like that. i mean i lost respect and i was a fan. plus it don’t matter what you think. it’s what the fan’s think. if that’s what they wanted then get over it.

I am not a country music fan but I think Kanye West is a jackass for doing what he did.

Could someone please show more of Beyonce on the MTV’s VMA’s, when she gave her time to Taylor Swift. That was classy BK. KW (no class) stay away from TV, music, videos, the news and the web… we can do with out it. More positive talk then negative will could one day change people and the world. Only God can judge. Live laugh love and be happy… It’s a good day when you wake up in the morning… you are not promised tomorrow on earth. I once read:Don’t let anyone control your mood.

    just beat it…

  8. Sidney says:

Ironically, the comments bring more PR for Taylor and interest in her songs. Even so, as usual, most of the music of all the artists years from now will end up in the dust of the forgotten. Just the way it is.

  9. Vera Jones says:

Kanye West his mother is probadly turning over in her grave for his stupid stunt. He made his self look so bad.
