It was Taylor Swift‘s turn to discuss Kanye West‘s infamous VMA rant against her win against Beyonce, as the songbird appeared on The View today.
Swift, who is the first country artist ever to win a VMA, was interrupted by West as she accepted her very first moon man. When he returned the mic to her to finish her speech, the shocked 19-year-old couldn’t finish.
“My overall thought process went something like ‘Wow, I can’t believe I won. This is awesome. Don’t trip and fall. I’m gonna get to thank the fans. This is so cool. Oh! Kanye West is here. Cool haircut. What are you doing there?’” she told the hosts of what was going through her mind on stage. “And then ‘ouch.’Â And then ‘I guess I’m not going to get to thank the fans.’”
West has issued two apologies to Swift on his Kanye Univercity blog and a third emotional apology on The Jay Leno Show last night. Swift — who admits to being “rattled” by the incident — says that although West hasn’t reached out to her personally, she wouldn’t have a problem talking it out with him. [ABC confirmed soon after Swift finished The View, West called and apologized personally.]
