Alicia Keys fans got a welcomed surprise yesterday when the 12-time Grammy award winner debuted a brand new single called “Doesn’t Mean Anything” on her official website. The powerful single, which talks about how pointless dreaming of the finer things in life is if you don’t have anyone to share it with, will lead Keys’ as-yet-untitled fourth album that is expected in early 2010.
Keys took a bit of time out to discuss the “strange” night had at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in which she and Jay-Z had their performance crashed by rapper Lil Mama. “We can appreciate her being overwhelmed and inspired,” she said. “But we would have preferred if she did it from her seat.”
Back on the new music front, Keys announced that she would be performing “Doesn’t Mean Anything” live at the Rockerfeller Plaza on November 24.

Alicia Keys appeared on 106&Park today as well and said the album will be released this December
