Being a pop star doesn’t mean you’re immune from the dreaded H1N1 virus as Brian Litrell found out.

Reps for the Backstreet Boys singer announced late Monday (October 5) that Litrell has been diagnosed with the swine flu.

Several BSB appearances have been nixed in the wake of the diagnosis, like their PINKTOBER concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York City tonight and the CBS Early Show tomorrow morning.

The other members of the band — Nick Carter, AJ McLean, and Howie Dorough — are said to be fine, but are taking medications, along with their entire touring crew, as a precaution.

Backstreet Boys’ new album, This Is Us, arrives in stores tomorrow.
