Usher - Jive Records
Usher‘s 2004 album Confessions became his most successful because he held nothing back when it came to putting the most intimate details of his relationships on wax. With the follow-up, Here I Stand, being dubbed a commercial flop, he’s obviously realized this method works for him since he’s at it again on “Papers,” the first single from his upcoming sixth studio album, tentatively titled Monster.
The mid-tempo track dishes every speck of dirt on his failed marriage to his ex-wife Tameka Foster in scathing detail. “I done damn near lost my mama/I done been through so much drama/I done turned into the man I never thought I’d be,” he sings on the chorus. “I’m ready to sign those papers.” Yes, he means divorce papers. And that’s not even the worst (or best depending on how you feel about Usher’s ex) of it.
If a brutally honest Usher makes for a hit, I think we’ll see this one at No. 1.

Hope this isn’t his 1st single. It okay for a ballad but quite boring all in all. I want “Yeah” Usher for 1st single, not this. Album filler.
Once again, I’m not suprised with the caliber of work Usher is doing. Year after year (including Here I Stand) he does it over and over. One of the few artist that knows how to lay it all out there in a way that we can all relate to, even if you’ve never been through a divorce. Cant wait for the ALBUM!!!
hmmm its interesting but its not confessions but im waiting for the album so im sure it will be very good, i dont care about his relationship, i didnt buy the album to hear his life story, i brought because it was real but i just want the album come on, get it out
um yu just said yu brought the album to listen to it but then again yu said that yu wait on it which one is it ya comfusing meh hear!!!!
