Alicia Keys has been quietly working away on the follow-up to her smash third album, 2007′s As I Am. Now she’s ready to be back on top where she deserves to be when she releases her fourth album, The Element of Freedom, on December 1st.
“We have the ability to be totally free, to be totally unstoppable, and there’s no heights that you can’t reach,” Alicia told the Associated Press in an interview earlier this week. “So I totally love that and that’s what the music feels like, and that’s what everything that I’m doing sounds like.”
The set is led by the gorgeous first single, Doesn’t Mean Anything, which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 two weeks ago at No. 61. A video for the single has been shot and is set to premiere in the coming weeks. She plans to follow-up the track with a second single entitled “Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart.”
Alicia is currently sitting high on the Billboard charts with the Jay-Z collaboration, Empire State of Mind, at No. 10.
