What a star spangled nightmare!
Jesse McCartney let his nerves get the best of him this weekend while he was performing the Star Spangled Banner at the NASCAR Pepsi 500 race in Fontana, California.
The 22-year-old actor/singer started the anthem on shaky ground. He didn’t seem quite sure of himself as he uttered the first line, and then completely missed an entire line as he continued, his voice sounding more and more nervous.
“Can’t believe I forgot the words to the Anthem,” Jesse tweeted following his embarrassing performance. “I’ve performed it 100 times. Bad Nerves today I guess.”
He has performed the song successfully in the past, erm, save for a few voice cracks. See video on the other side for proof.

Really? I mean, really? He should really be ashamed of himself for that. How the in hell do you forget something like that, and in the middle of a performance?!
Well I was really upset but i will get over it. The only thing is every time i hear your name i will remember that mistake as will those Americans who were thare that day.It kind of like a field goal kicker that misses the field goal to win the game. He feels bad but is remembered for that game only and not all the other great things he did. I suggest a public apology and a do over at the next Nascar evant to let all American know you are only human like the rest of us. Good luck Jesse. I am not a fan just an Americam that wants it right.
