She’s been lighting up the TV screen with amazing performances during the promotional blitz for her new album but tonight, it was all about putting on a great show on Saturday Night Live for Shakira.
She started things out with the first single and title track from her new album She Wolf. Her robotic yet saucy moves should be appreciated here on the much more adult SNL after coming under fire for using them on a family oriented show like America’s Got Talent. She then closed out her musical guest gig with her new single, Did It Again.
She Wolf will be released November 17.

Nothing special. I have been a big fan of hers but what she does these days is so-so and I cannot believe it when people describe her recent tv appearances as “amazing”. I still like her stuff but its just a bit of entertainment.

Let me see….SHAKIRA writes, sings, performs and produces her own material. AND is in top physical shape. Her performance demonstrates that. She has her own unique style, which leaves her open to criticism from people with no talent who are too closed minded to understand what true talent is. SHAKIRA is a beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit, which also leaves her open for envious put downs from less than beautiful people with too much time on their hands.
I wouldn’t say thet the people who do not like her performances are envious, or closed minded. And it doesn’t matter whether they have talent or not. I do not sing good or dance great. I do not care for her singing. I am Colombian and have tried liking her for many years but still not able to. And these latest clips of her are terrible. She is beautiful of face but being beautiful doesnt make you a better singer. I have excellant taste in music. I can not understand how Americans can like performers like Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Pussycat Dolls, Beyonce, etc. People ought to check out music from Africa. The singers there have incredible voices and play their own instruments. Music from The Andes is beautiful. Flamenco, Salsa, Reggae and more. One positive thing I can say about Shakira is she is helping children in Colombia with her Pies Calzado organization/schools.
As I was reading the comment from the Colombian, I was thinking OMG! this person represents one of the reasons I now live in the United States. I am from Colombia, and even though I am PROUD of it, I never got used to Colombian music; I never felt alive until I listened on the radio pop music from the 80′s (Madonna, Cindy, Bananarama, Expose, Euritmics, Pet Shop Boys,Sammy Fox, etc). What a decade!!!!!. I happen to like Shakira and hope she makes it big here. She has a unique style, which I am sure is going to evolve as she tries to capture the attention of a much bigger audience. It does not bother me that some people do not like her; that is a fact of life. Cheers!!!!!!!

Shakiras appearance on SNL has opened doors to the show for a bigger audience.For people who would normally not watch the show.I normally watch the show however sometimes it is just not as funny as I would like it to be.Also the show concentrates on cast of high waisted anorexic pale white people.With only that black guy-who I actually think is funny.
To end this note.Shakira rocked the stage!!!! Her next year concert tour will be amazing and please haters hate on someone else that deserves it!!!!
She’s no lady gaga, to see shakira perform weeks after gaga was on, just embarrassing.
Yes, that was lip syncing. Shakira is talented at singing and dancing but we’d much rather hear live singing than dancing.
For those who are adamant that she wasn’t lip syncing, the next time you are on a stage, try placing the microphone up to the monitor speakers like the ones she was crawling over and tell me if you don’t get feedback.
well,I know shakira since 2001 – since she released ww/ uyc. I enjoyed listening to this stuff coz I thouht (still think) it’s catchy music. I think she should rather concentrate doing music in spanish coz her voice is more unique and also coz she can touch other ppl more in her native language. her spanish stuff is way better. she can’t express her feelings/ messages that well in english. even if she denies doing all this recording in english coz she wants to be creative/ try different types, I do nowdays believe that. all her music nowdays is oriented to the style which is popular for these days and she even more becomes like a “madonna”, who goes with the time. my guess is that she got pissed off coz she couldn’t sell as much records with OF2, like she did with the predecessor or maybe she was under pressure by her label. who knows?! but hella, shakira why are you dening becoming more like an entertainment star?! why are you lying to the fans who have been loyal to you for a long time?! how come did you produce “she wolf”?! what should I so with this plastic pop feat. electronic sounds?! why do you use a computer to hide your strong voice?! how come?! how come?!
in the past almost every song on an album was enjoyable and I even listen to it now. I forced me listening to “she wolf”, but I can’t even say I have a favourite song. the only song which touches me is “gypsy”. sounds a bit like the shakira we have known years before. you don’t need plastic pop. dare you produce such albums in the future. dare you!!!
