Out & About: Jay-Z Plays DJ Hero At NYC Press Conference

Jay-Z only aligns himself with the most promising projects, so getting on board with the successful “Hero” (Guitar Hero, Rock Band) video game franchise was a no brainer for the rap mogul.
Jay was in New York City today (October 26) to launch “DJ Hero Renegade Edition,” which is being released tomorrow. It will feature a turntable controller and two CDs of music to mix to — one by him, the other by Eminem. He says the CD is pretty much his “greatest hits” since he picked a song from each of his 11 albums to go on it.
Even though the game is fun, Jay admits DJing is much harder in real life and doesn’t want people to be confused by their gaming success. “It’s very challenging and fun and you get lost and you start believing that you can deejay a party,” he told the Associated Press. “I think some kids may go out and try to deejay a party and really mess up really bad and realize it’s not as easy as it seems.”
