Jessica Simpson On Melrose Place: “Ashlee Got You Some Press”

There’s nothing like having support from your family in a time of need. After losing her role in a surprising plot twist on the CW’s remake of the 90’s drama Melrose Place, singer and actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz could sure use a bit of it.

Sister and fellow singer Jessica Simpson came to the rescue on her official Twitter account, slamming the show for its poor writing and letting her little sis go.

“CW catching up on MP [Melrose Place]. who writes this crap,” she tweeted about the show. “I have had bad scripts to work with, but this?”

“Thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press,” she continued in her rant. She ended her assault on the show by telling a Melrose Place boycotting viewer–who seemed to agree with her view on the show– to continue to watch the show until January, when Ashlee’s final appearance with air.

Ashlee’s departures is being attributed to the wrap up of a murder mystery plot involving one of the show’s original characters, Sydney, played by actress Laura Leighton.
