Country singing sensation Carrie Underwood played both co-host and performer at last night’s (November 11) 43rd annual Country Music Association Awards. Taking the stage for a feisty performance of her current single, Cowboy Casanova, she showed just why she is the chart topping queen that she is.
Her new album, Play On, sold a whopping 319,000 to claim the No. 1 Billboard 200 chart position. This is Carrie’s second No. 1 album. Her sophomore set, 2007′s Carnival Ride, also topped the charts with over 500,000 sold in its first week.
While Carrie did deliver a smoking performance, it was 19-year-old country/pop singer Taylor Swift who walked away with the award for Female Vocalist of the Year.

I was astonished by her performance, and attire. All she needed was a stripper pole to complete the ensamble. The outfit and moves – especially the first glimpse the world saw of her silver sparkling crotch was very innappropriate and obviously geared to one train of thought. Forget the lyrics, all thoughts and desires directed here, please. Very tacky.
I agree..Im very disappointed in Carrie. She has a beautiful voice and does not need to sell her records by trying to use the “sex” appeal. She looked vulgar and ruined her ” role model” status for young girls!!! Carrie, be ashamed!!!

Why the heck were the shorts dark like that when the dress was ivory? The outfit was so beneath Carrie – I can’t believe she is the madame in this performance and the video. They should not have changed her image. I was even more disappointed in the fact she did a parody about the deadly swine flu. I just think it is so wrong to poke fun at a virus that has left so many people grieving for lost family members. I think these people in the country music industry think they are too good to get H1N1 or something. How would they feel if it were their children who were dying from it? Would they be laughing then?
I think carrie underwood would sell her soul to be at the top. It is very dissappointing to see her resort to selling sex to stay popular. You will never see Martina, Reba, etc. do this. They didn’t have to. I am really turned off by her. She thanks God after she sings a lustful song about sex!

I absolutely love Carrie underwood. She has the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard, but I am appalled at how she has been acting. I think this is the worst she has done yet. I recently watched the music video of “Cowboy Casanova”. Though I think her voice sounds perfect, her clothing and the setting of the music video give a different impression. A few years back, she sang “How Great thou Art” at the grand ole opry and “Jesus take the wheel” on her first album. She has sung everything from Christian spirituals to sex songs. This shows that she really isn’t a respectable person and that she only sings to gain wealth. I hope she will change because she is a beautiful, talented person. I still love her.
