Album Preview: Allison Iraheta – Just Like You

American Idol season 8 churned out some of the most diverse talent we’ve seen in sometime from the hit show. Their final four were all shoo-ins for recording contracts and three will release albums in this busy final quarter.
The youngest of the bunch, Allison Iraheta, will release her debut album Just Like You on December 1st. For those needing to see just what this talented teen’s music is all about, they can gather a pretty good idea from a collection of 30-second snippets from the album released online.
It takes several listens to really get into it but one thing is clear from the very beginning: she’s a fan of Pink. The songs sound like a mix between the outspoken pop/rock singer and another Idol alum, Kelly Clarkson. Stand-outs include the album title track, the ballad Scars and the kick ass D Is For Dangerous.

I can’t wait to buy her album on the first. I am loving what I am hearing so far. I think with the full songs they will get even better. I think with any snippets of songs you need to listen a few times to really get into the songs because they are so new and short. Great job Allison!
No offense intended to Allison, but the wording above doesn’t feel quite quite accurate. Allison was not one of the top 3 from the show, she finished fourth or third runner-up.
The top 3, all very talented and popular in their different ways, were Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and –> Danny Gokey<–, not Allison Iraheta.
Danny is also signed to a record deal of course, with his first single now coming out from RCA Nashville and full country album due in March.

Definably listen through a least 3 times because there is a lot there and it comes at you fast. This sounds like it is packed with hit singles. Each time around I fell in love with another song.
Just like you, Scars, beat me up, Robot love etc. I want this NOW! Definitely not boring. Varied sounds yet they all go well together. This maybe the best Idol POP/Rock debut album.

Alyson, I beg to differ with you ~ we all have opinions and a different ear for music. Danny is VERY popular, tho obviously not with you. (Adam is the one from another planet, not Danny ~ remember?) Kris & Danny were my favorites this Season ~ so thank you “Story” for correcting the article! I do think Allison has a beautiful voice ~ I just don’t like this album ~ maybe another time!

My God this is Amazing… even more amazing than the albums of Adam and Kris… she’s gonna do great!
I love Allison album, but I feel so sad. I wanted to pre order 6 albums, so I can give a gift to my friends. But bad news Amazone.com only sold me 3, because they cannot pre sell more than 3. I think this is BAD.
