Singer and guitarist Orianthi is ready to step from behind the shadows of the amazing artists she’s had the pleasure of playing  for (Michael Jackson anyone?!) and into the spotlight. To continue her quest to pop/rock super-stardom, she dropped by dance show So You Think You Can Dance’s results show to perform her rocking new single According To You.

According To You is taken from her debut album, Believe, that is in stores now. Learn more about Orianthi in our Limelight Spotlight.

I think it was distasteful to let Channing go instead of Karen. Karen is not the TASTE you really want representing your show. She was tacky and very Slutty on the stage tonight and you said it yourself you don’t like her being anything but a vixon. How disappointing that your very uplifting, inspiring show has now just become nothing but a sex market vs. a talent competition.

Orianthi, excellent performance tonight. Great mix of awesome 80’s rock and hip hop. I love you. Wish I’d known and will learn more about you from here on out. Great job!

Orianthi was pretty good tonight on SYTYCD. I just saw her in “This is It”, and thought she was an incredible rock guitarist, and now I know she sings too! She is talented and I’m sure the guys love her looks too.

It’s hard to hear the judges tell a dancer that she/he has not shown personality enough, or at all. It must hurt their feelings but on the other hand, they are on tv and need to really reach the audience with a great performance, which is a combination of technique and projecting your uniqueness. People will often respond better to a fun or dramatic style of performance over a dancer who is technically sharp only. It’s in knowing how to blend the elements that creates a winner.
