Personality edged out technical skill as an upset took place on last night’s (November 24) Dancing With The Stars finale results show.
Singer and entertainer Donny Osmond, along with partner Kym Johnson, beat out r&b singer Mya and her partner Dmitry Chaplin to become the Dancing With The Stars’ season nine champions.
After a night filled with entertainment to fill the two-hour long program slot–including two performances from musical legend Whitney Houston, singer and reality TV starlet Kelly Osbourne was the first to learn her fate as she and partner Louis Van Amstel finished in third place.
After heading into the finale with a solid lead on the judges’ leaderboard, many predicted Mya would walk away the winner of the competition. But things started to look brighter for Donny when he scored his first perfect score of the season during the finals and continued that streak when he placed first in the contestants final finale dance.
Was this really the Donny and Marie Show or what………Can you say FIXED???Its called Dancing with the Stars nor Singing with the Stars…..Maybe Tom Delay should have won the darn thing….Keep Marie and Donny away from the show NEXT season

Mistakes after mistakes….and they crown this MORON….what a JOKE
I agree that Mya should have won the competition, she was far and away the best dancer in the competition, not to mention consistently scoring higher than the other contestants. So here is the deal, how they pulled it off: Mya goes into finbals with a huge lead (on Monday’s show she outscores both Donny and Kelly….fans vote….now show producers and judges know the outcome of the called-in votes and when they combine those scores with their (the judges) scores they see that the only way they can allow Donny to win is to allow him to score higher on judges scoring card tonight, hoping that the public would just say “well it must have been very close and because Donny scored a 30 and Mya a 28 that must have been what made the difference”. The public knows the truth, we watched them dance for ten weeks and now we see that this show has turned into nothing more than a popularity contest. Donny and Kelly did exceptionally well but their dancing talents were inferior to Mya’s, the scores speak for themselves.
I am so glad that someone else sees that this a big joke. Mya was robbed case closed!!

I am so happy Donny won!!! Mya was the better dancer yeah, but there was just something about her tht kinda turned everyone off. She was too perfect and had too much prior dancing experience!! Donny was fun and was a good dancer with personality. This is America, we like talent and personality :p At the beginning I was all Team Mya but Donny grew on me. And Kelly was great too, Underdog story of the year(: Congrats Donny!!!
Mya won the competition “hands down”. I agree, this was the “Donny & Marie Show”. Mya was robbed of the trophy. Everyone knows the truth. Donny tried hard and wanted to win but he was not better than Mya. It is called “Dancing With the Stars”, not “The Best Personality of the Stars.”
I am so outraged over this. This definitely proves to me this contest was fixed!!! No way Donny Osmond should have won this contest. The judges favoritism just spewed from every corner.
Yes, Maya was totally robbed. I am done with this show. Not that they care. But no way did Donny Osmond deserve this trophy!! I’ve been watching this since season 1. I am in total shock over this. It was so obvious seeing the judges favoritism. It was so sickening to watch.
I am so sick of the Osmonds. What did they think this was, the Donnie and Marie Osmond show? They act like they are entitled. GMAB. I’ve seen enough of them to last a lifetime.
This show was such a joke. I am so sorry I wasted and invested 10 or so weeks watching this only to see this blatant fix!! I hope they are reading this. By the way, I know it doesn’t matter, but I’m a 61 year old white woman, and I truly wanted to see Maya win. Of the two, she was the more talented. Donnie Osmond may be a showman, but that doesn’t make him a dancer with talent. I know this sounds mean, but in no way was this a fair competition.
Beauty and perfection lies in the eyes of the beholder and I guess more voters thought more of Donny’s beauty and perfection than that of Mya! Yes, perhaps Mya was more technically correct but perfect technique does not make a winner…the whole package does and Donny presented that to the voting audience. Mya has been gracious in accepting the outcome…time for her “fans” to take her lead.
And didn’t they say at the beginning of Monday’s show…the slate is wiped clean…its a whole new competition? Either way, its like the super bowl…Team 1 is obviously the superior. But if they mess up and Team 2 whoops their tail off…well, do you call foul then? Think not! Same principal…Donny came out fighting and won.
Give him the credit he deserves…Kelly is only half his age, Mya, pretty close to that as well. Plus, he was the only one doing his full time, energy filled Vegas show while still doing DWTS. Mya and Kelly dedicated their entire time to the show with little to no extra personal job commitments.
