If you got your hands on a ticket to see Rihanna’s concert last night (December 3) at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, you were lucky. You were even luckier if you got a good spot for the show, since fans started lining up to see the pop princess since 7a.m. You were the luckiest if you managed to survive the unruly entry and pushing that took place once Rih in all of her silver bodysuited glory hit the stage with her opening number, “Wait Your Turn.”
Rihanna performed as part of Myspace Music’s “The Release” concert series. The show was free for all ages, and boy did they turn out.
Although the show was short, the wait outside the venue was long, and Rih was 20 minutes late taking the stage, the crowd didn’t seem too disappointed. She shimmied her way through songs from her just released album, Rated R, including “Russian Roulette” and “Hard,” featured spots like “Live Your Life” and “Run This Town,” and past hits like “Don’t Stop The Music,” “Take A Bow,” “Disturbia” and “Umbrella.”
For those who couldn’t be there live, the show was streamed online through Rihanna’s Myspace page.
