Miley Cyrus and Lady GaGa‘s performances for the Queen at the Royal Variety aired today and made their sweet way to YouTube.
Miley chose the somewhat inappropriate “Party In The USA.” (She was performing in England!) It was almost the standard shaky-voiced, trying-to-hard-to-be-sexy catastrophe of past performances, but it should be noted that instead of singing “and a Britney song was on,” young Miley decided to shout out GaGa and do a little “Bad Romance” tribute dance. Points scored!
GaGa, by sharp contrast, delivered an amazing performance of her song “Speechless,” dress in regal-yet-edgy attire all while playing at her piano which was suspended in midair.

Yes, Lady Gaga was amazing, but I give credit to Miley too. They’re both wonderful. Miley just turned 17 – what poise and accomplishment for her age! I imagine they chose her hit song because that’s what they figured people wanted to her. And, I give credit to Lady Gaga for choosing a song more fit for the occasion – Speechless – than a hit like Poker Face or Bad Romance! (Can’t imagine signing Poker Face in front of the queen.)
