It’s Christmas Eve, so Santa’s making his list and checking it twice to see who was naughty or nice this year. Well, we’re going to help St. Nick with our list of the pop stars who’s been naughty and nice in 2009.
Whether it was a big, bad rapper playing a mean trick on an innocent country star, a pop princess with a tendency to show her naughtiest bits, or a skinny jeans-loving upstart with fists of fan-hitting fury, not every pop tart was as sweet as they sound. On the other hand, some were meant to be born with halos atop their perfectly styled tresses.

Naughty!
- Kanye West – Yeezy was a very good sport when he won a Grammy, but wanted to give it to Lil Wayne instead because he felt it was his year, but who knew an award that had nothing to do with him would bring out the ego tripping beast. The hi-jacking of Taylor Swift’s VMA moment will go down in pop history and also secure Ye’s spot on our naughty list.
- Rihanna – We get it. Rih’s been through a lot and she has every right to feel strong and proud of herself for overcoming it all. But her new found strength has also introduced a new side of her — a very naughty side. She’s always showing off her boobies, she’s been outspoken about girls needing to send nude pics for their boyfriends in an age where a sext to a BF could mean a sext to the world, and she won’t deny that size — yes, that size — matters.
- Adam Lambert – Our dear Glambert went from nice to extremely naughty with one very public crotch thrust into a man’s face and one steamy hot dude-on-dude kiss during his American Music Awards performance in November. It made for great TV, but it led to a brief ban on ABC and some fans are still finding it hard to forgive Adam’s antics. Santa might not either.
- Kid Cudi – Cudi saved the day when he stepped in for his pal Kanye West to offer some rap on Lady GaGa’s Monster Ball tour, but it all came crashing down when the Cleveland-born star couldn’t keep his anger in check at a show stop in Vancouver where he let his fists of fury connect with a fan’s face. It was reportedly unacceptable for GaGa who possibly/maybe/sorta kicked him off her tour, and it’ll be unacceptable to Santa.
- Miley Cyrus – For a girl so young, Miley sure likes scandal. She ruffled the feathers of quite a few parents when on the Teen Choice Awards this summer she threw on some booty shorts, strapped on some boots, and suggestively dipped it low on a pole. There were also a few naughty pics both in the too sexy and possibly racist categories. Oh, and let’s not forget Miley’s urged her 9-year-old sister to “Smack That” to an innuendo-filled Akon song.

- Beyonce - It’s a good thing she has a song called “Halo” because that’s exactly what Beyonce has floating above her blonde locks. Taylor Swift’s night at the VMAs would have been completely ruined if it had not been for B’s selfless decision to let Taylor use her acceptance speech time. Nicest chick in the game!
- Taylor Swift – You can’t have a nice list without including Taylor Swift. After the embarrassment she suffered in front of millions at the VMAs, she could have used the time Beyonce gave her to call Kanye out for being an immature little prick, but she didn’t. Instead, she thanked her fans and poked fun at the sitch with a hilarious mention in her monologue on Saturday Night Live.
- Drake – Drizzy’s a nice guy because he can admit when he’s wrong, and does so quickly. After being surprised by a few underage rump shakers during his performance with Lil Wayne at this year’s BET Awards, it took him only a few hours to realize people were offended and offer his apologies. He’s also generous when it comes to helping weak singles get a boost by associating his hotness with them. His feature on “Say Something” might be the only reason people went out to buy Timbaland’s flop-o-matic album “Shock Value 2.” Kindness!
- David Archuleta – That smile. That laugh. Everything about Archie is nice. But his benevolence went far beyond sharing that angelic voice with the world this year. He signed on to be an ambassador for Stand Up to Cancer where he donated his time to raising awareness and money for cancer research. He also avoided throwing anyone under the bus when Disney abruptly canceled a few dates on his summer tour with Demi Lovato.
- Lady GaGa – GaGa goes above and beyond for her fans, even in a situation that’s out of her control. When she realized she’d be late for her album signing at a Best Buy store in Los Angeles last month, she sent a ton of pizzas to the hungry fans who probably had no problem waiting for her. She even stayed later than she was originally scheduled to make sure her little monsters were satisfied.

I like all the artists on your nice list especially Lady Gaga and David Archuleta! I went to 2 Archuleta concerts (he was great) but haven’t seen Gaga yet. I’m sure they’ll both tour again next year!

Um, yeah, John. WHy not just say, “My name is John. And I”m a homophobe.” Cause seriously, Lambert kissing a dude makes him naughty. Sounds like this entire site is homophobic. Lambert and his fans have completely moved on for this. And most of the sane ones aren’t angry at him at all.
The site is homophobic? Hardly. We’re Adam fans here, as we are of every artist on the naughty or nice part of this list. It’s all in good fun and has more to do with the performance as a whole being raunchy than any singular moment of it. Hence why Miley’s racy-ish performance landed her on the naughty list. Don’t take everything so seriously.
And there’s is a huge difference between being homophobic and criticizing someone’s looks. Please make the distinction before throwing such an ugly label on someone.
Bizon, I am not a David Archuleta fan but I know and will speak honestly that this young man is talented and has a wonderful and giving way about him. I’m not deaf or blind to the facts.

TJ, Imma have to disagree with some of the arrangements……, FIRST, you all post up Taylor Swift as if she’s “well deserving” of this “attention” she’s been receiving. NOT SO. If Im not mistaken, her album “Fearless” didn’t become a multi-platimun seller unitl Kanye West called out some TRUTHS (which happened to unknowingly to fall in her space) about how the industry (as a whole) tends to do. Now all of a sudden she’s a role model? America’s next best thing? Entertainer of the Year? Give me a break!!!! It was just the truth! Bad timing? YES, but turhtful statement. Taylor Swift the cupcake should have never beat Beyonce! LEt alone by her being a “country star” even been there. Justify it all day, but that was a major mistake. And that was going to be even if West had never said anything about it. The media is only giving Taylor THIS attention because Kanye did it, not so much as what was did. If P Diddy or Soulja Boy (just naming a few) would’ve done the same, they’d only received a “slap on the hand” and things would be back to normal…ummm, Taylor who? OK. Taylor is no more than what she was back in January……… Oh and calling Lady Gaga “NICE” and her WHOLE tour is basically indentical to Adam Lambert’s stage performance on AMA’s…that’s backwards likewise. Lady Gaga is FAR anything positive. Her fans are “adam lambert’s”……..
And Lady Gaga kicking Kid Cudi (supposely) off the tour as though her OWN conduct is not considered “unacceptable”. Please. Truth be told she probably didn’t realy WANTed him touring with her anyhow, this just gave her a legit reason to do so. I mean she couldn’t look lik Lady Goofy to fans if she’s just done it. Thank you for including David Archuleta because he truly is the nicest person ever. I had the opportunity to meet David recently while he was on tour. And even though it was only for seconds — he truly is so nice and giving of his time to music, his fans, and charities. David even took time out during his holiday tour show to thank the fans for donating to charities that are close to his heart. He said there is nothing that makes you feel better than helping someone out. And that speaks volumes for the wonderful person that David Archuleta is. I think he has an amazing voice and is such a talented singer / songwriter. I love his Christmas album and am looking forward to his next album.
Thanks for including David Archuleta on your nice list. He is one of the nicest, most giving people. He is involved in several charities. He truly appreciates his fans and always tweets and mentions them in his concerts. There isn’t a nicer, less egocentric artist out there today.
