Kanye West - Wireimage
Kanye West is apparently done with his self-imposed musical hibernation.
The Grammy-winning rapper, who has become a bit of a recluse after his highly-publicized rant against Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, took to his blog to announce he is back to work.
In true Kanye fashion, the blog is written in all caps and in the subject line. “I’M SO HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE STUDIO MAKING NEW MUSIC,” he wrote after thanking his fans for their support over the last six years of his career. “I WILL BRING YOU THE BEST I HAVE TO OFFER WITH THE SAME DEDICATION THAT KOBE HAS ON THE COURT.”
Throughout the post, he likened himself to legendary poets Maya Angelou and Gill Scott-Heron, and even jazz singer Nina Simone for the way their work improved over their careers and the way they “documented what was happening in culture.”
“THAT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS THE MODERN DAY ARTISTS AND POETS, TO ACCURATELY REPRESENT WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW, SO WHEN THE POWERS THAT BE TRY TO REWRITEÂ HISTORYÂ YOU CAN ALWAYS LOOK AT OUR WORKS AND FIND TRUTH AND SINCERITY IN A WORLD OF PROCESSED INFORMATION.”
Ye didn’t give a timeline for when the album would be completed or released.
The new album will be the follow-up to his platinum-selling (and Grammy snubbed) album 808s and Heartbreak.

Can’t hate he makes good music
