Christina Aguilera - RCA Records
Christina Aguilera took a trip into the past on her 40′s-themed last album, Back To Basics, and now she’s ready to step into the future.
In the new issue of Marie Claire magazine, the 28-year-old pop star, who’s spent over a decade winning fans with her soulful voice and catchy tunes, talks about the direction of her brand hew album, Bionic, due to hit stores in March.
Part of her new sound, she says, is inspired by her 22-month-old son, Max. “[This new album] is just about the future,” she told the magazine. “My son in my life, motivating me to want to play and have fun.”
Aguilera definitely had fun in the studio creating Bionic. She’s experimenting with her ever-changing sound, recruiting Australian pop wonder Sia as a co-writer on a few songs, and hitmaker Tricky Stewart for production on others.
She demoed five tracks for Marie Claire magazine. Of them, a candidate for the first single, entitled “Glam,” which the magazine describes as “a poppy hip-hop-inflected throwback to Madonna‘s ‘Vogue’.” It also mentions a beautiful ballad, entitled “Lullaby,” which was written for Max.
An official tracklist and first single should be announced in the coming weeks.
