Mariah Carey Makes ‘Breakthrough’ At Palm Springs International Film Festival

Mariah Carey’s role in the emotional flick Precious is quickly turning into a breakout one for her.

Continuing to collect accolades for her performance, Carey was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Festival held last night (January 5) at the Palm Springs Convention Center in California. There, she was given the award for Breakthrough Actress, which was presented to her by film director Lee Daniels.

MiMi attended the gala sans husband Nick Cannon, wearing a form-fitting black dress with a hint of sparkle.
