Mathew Knowles‘ Music World Management roster just got a little smaller.
AOL’s Black Voices blog reports former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams has decided to end her professional relationship with Knowles. Mathew has helped guide Williams’ career since she entered the Grammy award winning singing group in 2000.
“From my time in Destiny’s Child to my solo career, I am grateful for everything Mathew and his team has done for me,” a statement released by Williams reads. “We’ve shared great success together. However, as I move in a new direction in my career, I felt it was time.”
“I wish Mathew Knowles and the Music World Entertainment family all the best.”
Michelle has become increasingly vocal about her disappoint in the way her projects are handled, namely her last album, 2008’s Unexpected. After building positive buzz leading to the release, she saw it fizzle when numerous release date changes and lack of overall promotion came into play.
This news comes at a not-so-great time for Mathew, who seems to be struggling both personally and professionally. Almost one year ago, another former DC3 member, Kelly Rowland, ended her professional ties with his company. Just last month, reports came out that his wife of 30 years, Tina Knowles, was filing for divorce.
