Gorillaz - Stylo
This week has been an exciting one for fans of the animated hip-hop/rock band Gorillaz. Just yesterday it was announced that they’d headline Coachella on April 18, and now new music and details about their new album pop up.
Plastic Beach, the band’s third effort, will be released on March 9. They’ve packed an interesting gang of collaborators for the set, which include De La Soul, Paul Simonon, Snoop Dogg, and Little Dragon.
Two other collaborators, Mos Def and Bobby Womack, can be heard on the set’s first single, “Stylo.” The spacey, 80′s infused track leaked today hours ahead of its scheduled radio debut. “A leak! A leak! Plastic Beach has sprung a leak! One of those Russian pirates has put a bullet hole in my island! My single’s leaked,” band member Murdoc Niccals wrote on Twitter.

Plastic Beach is the band’s first in five years, following up 2005′s Demon Days.
