A visibly moved Rihanna performed a soul-stirring rendition of Bob Marley’s classic “Redemption Song” on a special episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show dedicated to the earthquake-ravaged Haiti.

Saying the song helped her through difficult situations in her life, Rihanna chose it to offer some inspiring words to survivors.

Rihanna will further lend her support by participating in “Hope For Haiti,” a telethon airing on every major network commercial-free on Friday, January 22. She’s performing live from London with Jay-Z and Bono.

See her performance on Oprah above and consider downloading the song on iTunes with all proceeds going to Haiti relief.
