The last set of “Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief,” performances features a legend performing a classic, a brand new song by a rap icon, pop princess and legend, a native Haitian lifting the spirits of those from his home country and everything in between!
Madonna took the stage in New York and performed her classic single Like A Prayer backed by a large gospel choir. Justin Timberlake performed a stirring duet with his new artist Matt Morris of Hallelujah. Jennifer Hudson surely reduced thousands to tears as she beautifully covered The Beatles‘ Let It Be.
Jay-Z, Rihanna and U2‘s Bono and The Edge performed a brand new song titled Stranded from London. The song, Rihanna says, is meant to let the people of Haiti know “We are not going to leave you stranded. We’re going to do every last thing that we could do to help you. You are not alone.” The Swizz Beatz produced single is available on iTunes with proceeds going to earthquake relief.
Wyclef Jean ended the night by giving a more upbeat offering, dancing and chanting to the song Yele.
