Today was definitely a fairytale for Taylor Swift.
The 20-year-old country/crossover singer swiped four awards at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, including the night’s biggest prize, Album of the Year, for her sophomore effort, Fearless. “I just hope you know how much this means to me,” she told the audience.
Earlier in the main show she won Best Country Album, which she described as living an “impossible dream.”
She won two other awards in the pre-telecast.
Taylor took home the top prize, but the night undoubtedly belonged to Beyonce, who earned a record-breaking six awards, including Song of the Year for her smash “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” (She was unable to accept as she was preparing for a dazzling performance.)
During her acceptance for Best Female Pop Vocal for her hit “Halo,” Beyonce thanked her family and husband, Jay-Z. “I love you,” she told him from the stage.
Beyonce becomes the only female artist in Grammy history to win more than five awards in one night, a record she was previously shared with singers like Norah Jones, Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill.
Kings of Leon delivered a major upset in the Record of the Year category when they beat both Beyonce and Swift with their stunning single “Use Somebody.”
Lady GaGa, up for five awards, didn’t get the chance to accept an award on camera, but she didn’t go home empty handed. She won two awards, both in the dance category, during pre-telecast.
Rihanna made a strong return to the Grammys after suffering an ugly assault last year that forced her to cancel her appearance and performance at the last minute. She won two awards, both for her collaboration with Kanye West and Jay-Z, “Run This Town.” She and Jay accepted their award for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration without Kanye, who decided not to attend, but Beyonce’s nephew five-year-old Julez joined them. Jay-Z credited Rihanna for making the song what it is, and called Kanye a genius.

Good show. Proud of Beyonce and Jay. For all the haters, you now see what being a professional and focused gets you; longevity
I don’t agree with what Kanye did to Taylor Swift but there is no way he shouldn’t have been nominated.
Taylor Swift is very deserving of her awards, though I believe Gaga should’ve won Album of the Year.
