Rihanna proves a couple key things in the video for her latest single, “Rude Boy.”
One: She hasn’t left her roots behind. Sure, hardcore fans know this. Every album offers a touch of the island sound, but it wasn’t always ever present since she went ‘bad’ and extremely pop in 2007. “Rude Boy” plays with the island vibe ten fold. From the colors, to the scenery, to the dancing, Rihanna is letting her everyone know where she comes from.
Two: She can still dance!!! Rih practically retired from doing anything besides a lazy tick-tock after “Umbrella.” If we were lucky, we’d get a short hip roll. Maybe a half-hearted butterfly. In the “Rude Boy” video we get oodles of hip rolls, tons of dips, a passionate bogle, and more.
On the whole, “Rude Boy,” directed by Melina, is sexy and confident — hands down the best video to come from Rihanna’s latest album, Rated R.

OK OK..its a lot of visuals, even thought some of the visuals made me sick like the movement of that red, yellow and green skirt or whatever you call it. The random dancing and movements remind me of Beyonce, other wise I enjoy watching.
