It only took seven years, but American Idol season 2 finalist Kimberly Caldwell is finally ready to step out from behind the correspondent’s microphone and into the rock star spotlight with her debut album, Without Regret, in stores April 6.
She gave us a taste of what’s to come on the set with the stirring “Say Love,” and now she’s solidifying her straight-from-the-gut raw sound with her official first single, “Mess of You.”
In the video for the song, shot at the historic Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Kim is two-timed by her douchey (albeit hot) boyfriend who cuddles with her one minute, then plays grab-ass with a waitress the next.
Throughout the video, she’s being watched by another version of KC, who’s been there, done that. By the end when the first Kim realizes what a mess the relationship she’s in is, wise Kim pulls her from the wreckage (thanks to the help of a body double).
