Chris Brown Says He Supports Tiger Woods, Thinks He’s Been Treated Unfairly By Radio

R&B star Chris Brown knows a thing or two about facing heavy scrutiny by the public in the wake of a personal crisis. It’s precisely why he says he is backing embattled golfer Tiger Woods, who recently made an apology to the public and his wife Elin Nordegren for having more than a few extramarital affairs.

“I think people always deserve a second chance,” Brown said when asked about the situation on the Mojo in the Morning radio show today (February 24). “Whatever his personal life is — and I think this goes for me and him — his personal life is his personal life. Nobody has the right to place judgment or make any judgments on anybody else’s personal life when they’re not directly involved with them.”

“He plays golf,” he continued. “That’s his sport. That’s his hobby. That’s his love. That’s what people love him for. They don’t love him for the other stuff that they’re talking about. Even with me. I do music. I sing songs. Like, I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer… People make mistakes… I support him. I hope he gets back out on the field and does his thing because he’s the best at it.”

Brown says he’ll refrain from reaching out to Woods personally to avoid making it “a bigger story than what it needs to be.”

Another story he didn’t mind diving into was the treatment his third album, Graffiti, and its singles are receiving at radio. Brown doesn’t sugarcoat the way he feels, admitting he thinks he’s being treated unfairly, but he isn’t holding any grudges over it. “I just know that people have their certain opinions and certain people might come around — take a little bit more time to be as forgiving than other people.”

I agree with Chris. We are fans of these celebrities’ proffesions not their personal life. I dont like how some blog sites(not this site but others) are taking what he said and twisting his words around. I listened to this interview and this is exactly why he didnt want to really comment on Tiger. He said as soon as he would say something about Tiger it would be blown up and taken too far. He didnt say anything wrong and im glad he kept his response simple. The kid is learning how the business work. Good for u Chris. He’s been in good spirits lately so im really happy for him. 2010 is looking good for you Chris. P.S. his new mixtape has been steady going strong since Valentine’s Day. His album Graffiti is still getting play too.

as for graffiti that is your best album to date and your mixtape is dope too
keep doing what you do chris dont let haters get you down…..
just keep flashing your mega watt smile for me

  3. Ricky says:

*chuckles* His answer comes as no surprise.

  4. TruFan says:

Applause “claps hand” for your comment Chris. I agree a 100% I don’t love you guys for your personal life. I love you for your ability, talent to entertain me professionaly. I don’t know you well enough to judge the personal side of your life and as far as I am concerned as long as you step forward and own up to your actions and commit to better future behavior that’s all I need (sheeze) now back to entertaining us. The whole Tiger Woods issue should have never made national news and Chris’s situation although more serious should have been nipped in the bud a long time ago, especially as everyone and their mama who is a fan of music and mildly keeps up with the music biz knows that the full story wasn’t being told, to many loop wholes in the one version of the story but everyone (media) held back from delving deeper w/ questions. Hang both stories up for the year and let’s move on and allow these 2 young black males to move on and back to their respective professions and being the BEST. Luv you Chris (muah-kisses) and I love that kool aid smile you had in the airport pics.

Great remarks, Chris is growing into adulthood!

  6. connie says:

I don’t understand why the blog sites are making a big out of this, he didn’t say anything bad. We love these people because of what they do and not their personal lives, aslong as Tiger admitts he’s mistakes and stay true to his family he has my support too.

  7. Breezy lover says:

I hope people will finally move on. I’d like to hear more of his music on the radio. The album is great to me.

  8. John says:

Chris is totally right. Millions of men cheat on their wives every day, people need to leave Tiger alone already. Besides, when these men on the Maury Povich show get caught cheating on their wives we all laugh but as soon as Tiger Woods does it then we wanna get mad. I don’t condone his actions in any way, but I’m just making a point!

  9. SandePB says:

    I agree with Chris Brown.

  10. florida_girl says:

I can’t believe, I’m reading this not one time he said anything about being treated unfairly…well this shows Chris they are still thinking about u to some capacity because other wise this would not be all over the damn blogs…the media suck and most bloggers do too..

    • Bill says:

You want an example of a sucky blogger? Look at Perez Hilton( or as i like to call him, Pissrez Hilton).

    • shakeera says:

Hey listen to the interview florida girl. Mojo asked Chris if he think the radio guys are treating his songs fairly and Chris said he gonna be real and said no. These stations wanna hold him back because the incident and that aint right. I feel like people will move on in 2010. Big things headed Chris way!!!

      • florida_girl says:

@shakeera…he said this about his music but not about Tiger and ppl are twisting what he said…this is why listening and reading is fundamental…ppl need to start researching shit and stop being damn zombies when the media is concerned he was asked about Tiger and gave his response which is true everyone deserves a second chance…and you are so right I pray 2010 he is able to move forward and get his career back on track…but he knew that Graffiti wasn’t going to go far because of the incident…

        • Um says:

          You’re misreading the headline:

Chris Brown Says He Supports Tiger Woods, Thinks He’s Been Treated Unfairly By Radio

The “He” and “He’s” in the headline refers to Chris Brown. So Chris thinks HE’S being treated unfairly by radio, not that he thinks radio is treating Tiger unfairly.

You are right. Listening and reading is fundamental but so is comprehension. You failed there florida_girl :)

        • shakeera says:

Take a chill pill!!! I aint bein a zombie!! I read the article here and listen to the interview myself!! I don’t know how you got Chris saying Tiger being treated unfair out of either! You seem to be the only one mixing things up. Don’t try to jump down my throat and call me a zombie because you don’t understand what you reading. Girl good bye!!!

          Anyway!!!! CB aaaall day!

  11. tmj says:

The point Chris was making about the songs on Graffiti is that radio stations are not playing them because of his personal life, not on the merit of the song itself. If a song is a hot song, why does it matter who made the song?

  12. koko says:

The media are like plankton (sucker mouth) waiting on the bottom for anything to drop. And there’s far too many of the media. It takes two anchor people to report/sensationalize one story. Three cheers for Chris for rising above, staying strong and giving the people what they really want….a slice of his heavenly talent. You can’t take that away. Besides, aside from that bullshit that went on….he’s a nice person.. Report that! Plankton!

  13. Mel says:

Reading this on here and reading over on Perez. You see a whole lot different than when people just down right want to twist things into something there not. That’s why blogs that are out for like radio DJ said, garage are always going to try and turn a simple interview into something it’s totally not. I love coming on here and see the big difference.

    • noodles says:

Perez Hilton needs to stop he is so dumb lol. And I have nothing against gays but since he is a gay male he has no right to judge anyone… i’m sure he wouldn’t liked to be judged on his personal life so that needs to stop. And wasn’t he using drugs and stuff at some point….so why does this dude judge people and its not only Chris…I’m really not getting how you judge people when you are like that dumbass Perez Hilton makes no damn sense. And then he does nothing but twist words…he gossips not blog..he is worse then a damn teenage girl for real. And why is he always on Chris’s ass…out of all the media that Chris might respond to it wouldn’t be Perez Hilton because no one likes him or pays him attention…and I’m sure the people that like him aren’t playing with a full deck. Perez Hilton needs to hop off everyones dick and get a life and a career for himself instead of trying to destroy everyone elses…the dude sure can’t do shit…he can’t even design clothes or blog….he is famous for no reason…I don’t really go to Perez Hilton’s little website because he is so whack and I really don’t like to waste to much time out of my life reading any crap over there.

      • John says:

you don’t know how right you are noodles. Perez always loves to act high and mighty when he has a keyboard and a screen in front of him. And then when will i am punches him in the face he video taped himself crying and whining like a little bitch. Perez is in his goddamn 30′s now and Chris(who’s in his 20′s) is more mature then he’ll ever be. Perez needs to keep his nose out of other people’s personal lives and get a life of his own.

  14. VaunTV says:

Says the guy just in a similar situation as Tigers

  15. noodles says:

I’m glad this website didn’t really take his words and twist them and run with them…but he’s so right as soon as he says something about Tiger it becomes a bigger story then it needs to be. I agree with Chris everyone deserves a second chance and we don’t like celebs for their personal lives really we like them for their talent. Because I don’t recall everyone falling in love with Chris because of his personal life…same thing with Tiger…so its dumb to kinda fall out of love with the celebs talent for their personal lives because thats not even why you like them. And as to radios not playing his music…thats dumb…if a song is hot play it…why should you care who sings it. I know if a song is hot and I don’t like the person who sings it that much I’m still gonna probably listen to it. Some peoplee need to get over themselves…but its ok because 2010 is defiently looking bright…forget about 2009!
