Danny Gokey
American Idol season 8 contestant, Danny Gokey, made his return to the Idol stage last night (March 4) when he dropped by to perform his new single, My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me during the results show that sent contestants John Park, Jermaine Sellers, Michelle Delamor and Haeley Vaughn packing.
He debuted his brand new country sound on the big stage that he says was brought on by a talk with country singer Randy Travis and was something that he was always into. Although he seemed enthusiatic about his shift in sound, it still doesn’t feel natural. The proof was in his shaky performance.

Yeah, sure it is a surprising that Danny Gokey would go country, BUT!, that killer soulful voice of his combined with his incredibly sweet and unassuming disposition makes it work. As much as I respect the writing, I’ve never been a fan of Country music. Because of Danny Gokey, I am now, and his will be the 1st Country CD I’ve ever purchased. We can only hope that he doesn’t lose his kick ass soulful expression along the way.
Kudos Danny!!!!! To see you so happy and excited while still singin’ your butt off was an absolute joy.
Oh!!! my gosh I’m in love. He still has it to me no matter what he sings. He just has one of those voices you can’t help but be attracted to. I cam’t imagine him not going far in whatever he sings. I’m a fan! I am looking forward to getting his CD, can’t wait. I’m just happy to see him out there doing his thing music wise.
