Lady GaGa in "Telephone"
Countless photo sneak peeks and multiple date changes has finally led to tonight’s (March 11) premiere of the highly anticipated video for Lady GaGa and Beyonce‘s single Telephone.
In the nearly 10-minute long clip, things pick up where GaGa’s Paparazzi video left off with the star being sent to the big house. Jail doesn’t stop the diva from being her incredibly fashionable self. Within the first three minutes, she rocks sunglasses made of cigarettes, wears a rocking studded jacket and shows off her smoking bod in a barely there bikini. Beyonce–affectionately called Honey Bee by GaGa in the clip–bails the star out of jail where they go on an all out killing spree at a diner (singer/actor Tyrese Gibson plays one of the unfortunate casualties). They flee the scene in their “Pussy Wagon,” promising to never return.
Fast paced costume changes, quickly progressing story and completely random elements may leave your head spinning after the first view. The whole mini-movie concept seems a bit much for this single. While the video is by no means a bad one, it may be a victim of too much hype. It’s highly enjoyable (minus some really bad acting moments!) but when you add the massive delays and the promise that this is supposed to top the masterpiece that is the Bad Romance video, it may leave you with a little wave of disappointment.

GaGa is a pop artist, and in that sense, it is the best video i’ve ever seen. It’s dark, funny, and well thought out. Sure, there is some horrid acting on both honey bee’s and gaga’s part, but it’s a lot better than any slut-fest put out by pretty much all of her “peers”.
