In Travis McCoy‘s first single from his forthcoming album, Lazarus, he teams up with Bruno Mars for the rich-aspiring track, “Billionaire.”
With reggae acoustics mixed with standard drum beats in the summer-infused track, the Gym Class Heroes front man (now going by “Travie”) finds himself relaying what he’d do with his billions, if given the opportunity. Being on the cover of Forbes magazine with Oprah and the Queen isn’t all the singer/rapper desires.
The ways in which he’d change the world are shared in a somewhat comically social and political tone as he declares, “I’d probably pull an Angelina and Brad Pitt and adopt a bunch of babies that ain’t never had sh-t/I’d probably visit where Katrina hit and damn sure do a lot more than FEMA did.” We all have similar dreams, he shares, so we might as well go ahead and sing about it, right?
Signed under rapper T-Pain’s Nappy Boy Entertainment, Lazarus is expected to be released this summer.
