Ludacris might be asking “how low can you go” in his chart-topping single, “How Low,” but he’s reaching new heights.
The rapper/actor clocks his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 album chart with his seventh album, Battle of the Sexes. The set, which features lyrical brawls with female rappers like Nicki Minaj, Eve, and Lil Kim, sold 137,000 copies in its debut week, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Coming in at No. 2, the animated band Gorillaz take in 112,000 copies of their third album, Plastic Beach. The set is led by the song “Stylo,” featuring Mos Def and Bobby Womack.
Last week’s chart-topper, country trio Lady Antebellum‘s Need You Now, falls to No. 3 but remains a strong seller, boosting 105,000 more copies.
