That Rihanna reign just won’t let up — seriously.
The pop star earns her sixth No. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 this week with her sizzling island-infused latest offering, “Rude Boy,” from her platinum fourth album, Rated R.
The accomplishment gives Rihanna the most No. 1 singles for a female artist since the start of the new millennium — she was previously tied with Beyonce. “Rude Boy” helped the Bajan sensation clock the most top 10 singles for a female artist in the 2000’s (14) when it rocketed from 23-8 on the Hot 100 two weeks ago, but with the 11-9 rise of Lady GaGa and Beyonce’s “Telephone” this week, the two re-tie for that title.
Rihanna’s meteoric rise began in 2005, but her first chart-topper was earned in 2006 with “S.O.S.” from her sophomore album, A Girl Like Me, and continued with “Umbrella” featuring Jay-Z, “Take A Bow,” “Disturbia,” “Live Your Life” (with T.I.), and finally, “Rude Boy.”

She no longer has the most Top 10’s. Since Telephone is number 9 this week on the Hot 100, she is once again tied with Beyonce.
Unfortunately lol
I know, but Beyonce is taking a break after this and Rihanna still has about three singles before the Rated R era is over and i’m certain that if “Rock Star 101″, “Photographs” and “Fire Bomb” are released, Rihanna will certainly have more top tens and break her tie with Beyonce. Also, Rihanna is no longer tied with Beyonce anymore…They are tied with top tens but now Rihanna is the Queen of Pop officially! “Telephone” won’t go to #1…It’s already been played out…Now it’s just about the video which has just surpassed “Rude Boy” in total views on Youtube.com
Telephone is rising on itunes # 6 and its the most played song in radio.
It’s gonna take rihana out of #1 what an humilation…but she can kee on buying her own sings on itunes noone bought her album :)
True but, Rihanna was the first lady to do show so Beyonce would be second to her on that.
Getting the crap beat out of her was the best thing that happened to her career.ella ella ella
That is painfully funny but true (unfortunaly)…..
I LUV THAT SONG! IT’S SO CATCHY!
That is sad, but true. Chris Brown beating her only made her stronger and a better artist because Rated R, even if it didn’t set the album sales charts of fire was by far her best album and one of the best pop albums in recent memory. There is not one bad song on that album. She really took a risk and it totally paid of because her album earned rave reviews from so many important critics. I’m sure if CB had an amazing album he could have bounced back but unfortuantely his album can’t even compare with Rihanna’s in any way shape or form. I am a Chris Brown fan…I think he is incredibly talented but his album was just blah…nothing really surprised me. He kept the same formula expecting his loyal fans to follow but he forgets that no matter how good you are to your fans, your fans are not stupid. He should have waited about a year or two before releasing an album…He should have gone to college and came back with some deep shit to silence his critics. R. Kelly went through really bad stuff but he released solid albums that spoke for themselves. CB needs to do that.
It says most #1’s, not most top 10’s so Rihanna’s still in the lead with 6 to Beyonce’s 5 :)
