Miley Cyrus
Since Miley Cyrus was this week’s mentor on American Idol, you’d think she would take her own advice during her very own performance on the show’s results show tonight (March 24). Sadly, she didn’t.
Miley’s performance of her single, When I Look At You, from her new movie, The Last Song, was a true mess. Every high note was a struggle for the star and she seemed to have more pitch problems than perhaps any of the Idol contestants she “helped” the previous night.
The good news is, Miley looked adorable in her gown and she gave a charming brief interview after the performance wrapped–something that is becoming a rarity.
Great song but I have to agree with the author of this article… This performance was Horrible!!! She looked like she was struggling with every breathe like she is a chain smoker. I will have to hear the true version of the song to see if it stands the test, but if I had to base my judgment on this performance alone she would fail miserably… But the song itself is a very nice song.. good lyrics nice musical flow!
actually i have to disagree with the article and the one that replied. i love miley cyrus and yeah she was a lil pitchy but thats nerves. it was not a mess and she wasnt struggling. i think she did awesome and shes a great singer. i absolutely love that song and cant wait til the movie comes out.

The criticism on the performance is out of line and unfair. She is much more better than any of the contestants. The person who wrote the criticism has serious mental health problem and needs to seek professional help.

i don’t get what u are talking about. look, money doesn’t bring happiness. you can enjoy your life and be happy without being a millionaire. everybody is somebody. if you think you aren’t important enough, no matter who you are, then that will reflect in the things you do. you have to always think positive and know that no matter who you are, you are important.
to fairjudge you deaf noooor you just think she cute, sorry miley truth is the truth. you are talented, play instrutment, even write songs would be your best bet. but singing i think you need to leave it along. now as for joe jonas i wouldnt waste my money on him he sucks big time how he got where he is the hell i wouldnt know. the same goes for his brothers.

I agree with you that miley cyrus is amazing and people who think her performance sucked are just haters. they have no reason to be criticizing her. her performance was perfect. but your comment on blue is kind of harsh. look, just because people are millionaires doesn’t mean they are more important than you or me. they are people like us. no body is perfect, not even them. you get problems, they get problems too. I am not trying to oppose you or anything. Blue coat’s comment is mean for no reason and she probably knows that too. blue coat knows that miley is awesome. she just doesn’t want to admit it.
Miley CAN sing. and so can Joe AND his brothers. It funny how you people think that they suck when obviously they DONT. I think that Miley Cyrus did a perfectly good job! I give her props for getting up in front of those crowds and singing. You can tell that she was having a little bit of trouble with her voice, but hey I don’t think that anyone else can sing that song better.

What is with all the head slinging. I get embarrassed for her. She takes a pretty song like this one and It’s the climb and ruins it slinging her head and hair like a head banger.
i don’t mind her shaking her head, Miley has her own way of doing things and i think its kind of cool but I agree with you that she can sing very beautifully.

Miley did a great job! I’ve watched the video several times, and I love it because she did great, and I love her. I HAVE heard her sing live several times, and yes, she has sung that song in a slightly higer register before, but that is what a live performance is all about. You check yourself as you are going to see if you are feeling up to singing higher. Her dress probably made that a tad more difficult. I seriously want to buy the two night episode of Miley on American Idol, but it isn’t available on iTunes :( I’ll see everyone at The Last Song!!!
Miley cyrus is just sooooo amazing. her voice is so beautiful. I actually watch the performance over and over again and youtube. Miley is a beautiful girl and she’s very respectful. I mean she is so smart and she knows who she is. and she definitely knows how to answer a question.

I have been singing for years. I have been in several choirs and i know good technical singing when i hear it. Is Miley singing technically correct? no. But i have been in enough plays and performances and seen enough people who really can’t sing and think they can to know this one thing: Miley Cyrus is an incredible performer, with a rich and unique voice, sound, and stage presence. All those who say otherwise are either out of their mind or hateful beyond reason, or simply cannot appreciate any kind of art at all. My father was this way. Couldn’t just enjoy the performance. He had his mind set on how things were supposed to sound (opera) and sacrificed all the enjoyment of a performance in favor of complaining about some obscure technicality. From the moment i first heard Cyrus sing, I knew I had to pay attention. This one is special.
I just have to say this one last thing to the author of this article. you clearly do not know what you are talking about. maybe you should think about pursuing a different profession. No seriously. I have read this article a couple of times now and it makes me more angry each time. What a total looser you are. I watched that performance and it was wonderful. I am actually a very strong man, and I know it doesn’t mean anything on the net, but I would crush your skull. you are like a person who throws a puppy into traffic for the entertainment. no soul. no heart. your writing sickens me. How do you write what you write and live with yourself? If I were you I would seriously consider doing painful, punishing things to myself that cause me to die.
