Ex-Cheetah Girl Kiely Williams Defends Raunchy “Spectacular” Video

Kiely Williams in "Spectacular" video - youtube.com

There is nothing “cheetahlicious” about ex-Cheetah Girls member Kiely Williams new song and video for “Spectacular.”

The sleazy tune finds Williams singing almost in a whisper about a drunken night at the club that ends with her waking up the following morning next to a guy she doesn’t know. But what she does know is that the sex she and the mystery dude had was “spectacular.”

Later in the song, she utters the most horrific line yet: “I hope he used a rubber or I’mma be in trouble/except I don’t remember.”

The extremely low-budget video is just as vomit-inducing with its partial nudity, booty shaking, crotch thrusting, and horrible bargain bin hooker costumes.

As expected, the video caused quite a stir on the internet. And, of course, Williams is responding with a predictable video explanation of the travesty.

Along with the video responding to the internet criticism, Williams posted a message, saying she was just “playing a character.” “The fact is, that sometimes women get intoxicated and have unprotected sex,” she wrote. “My video puts this issue front and center. It is absurd to infer or suggest that I am condoning this behavior. Are Lady Gaga and Beyonce advocating murder with the Telephone video? Of, course not. Was Rihanna encouraging suicide with Russian Roulette? No. Was Madonna suggesting that young unmarried girls get pregnant with Papa Don’t Preach? I don’t think so. Is Academy Award winner Monique a proponent of incest because of her portrayal of Mary in the movie Precious. Clearly, the answer is no.

I wrote Spectacular and made the video to bring attention to a serious women’s health and safety issue. Don’t shoot the messenger.”

    • She’s not right, she’s saying that unprotected sex which you don’t remember (which, by law, is considered rape) is spectacular. She’s a moron.

  2. She is some what right but at the same time she should be VERY ashamed of herself thats just so nasty that vidoe that she made and isnt she sopused to be a role modle for younger kids??

  3. She looking to drum up some attention for her upcoming CD.Trust me she is trying to shake off that cheetah girl image and no she is not a role model she left that behind long ago with the cheetah girls.

OMG….I’m so upset about this…she sounded so fake on her explaining…I used to be a fan and now I’m disgusted…I wouldn’t buy her cd ever!I just saw this link as a post in my Facebook feed..I’m a teenager. They are teenagers..and they are singing this!? What is the world coming to? This is the most straightforward video I’ve ever seen and it’s a BAD ROLE MODEL FOR WOMEN!Not only the message was bad but the song was complete crap!Every time I listen to the Cheetah Girls I’m going to remember this..I’m not going to take it out on the other members of the group though…I bet they actually have some class. This is not a good image for her and it’s a complete let down :( Oh ya..and the video makes me wanna throw up! If I weren’t a smart teenager I’d actually think that this kind of thing was okay :(
