Rihanna finally found her missing black guitar when she debuted her new single, “Rockstar 101,” on American Idol last week, but before she was painted in black latex and plucking away at the strings, she was beating drums with Travis Barker.
The pop singer is preparing to dazzle on her Last Girl On Earth world tour, and she’s picking up the instrument to add a new layer of entertainment for her fans.
Video of Rihanna’s lesson with the modern day drum god was posted to Rihanna’s official website, and we learn that she doesn’t just look good rocking the drums, she actually does a good job. “She’s awesome. I haven’t seen anyone catch on that quick in quite a while or have that kind of ear for drums and rhythm,” Barker said.
Rihanna’s Last Girl On Earth tour kicks off on April 16 in Belgium, but you can see her stateside starting July 2 — but not at New York’s Madison Square Garden. That date sold out in just hours.
