Maybe Adam Lambert felt he had something to prove with tonight’s (April 14) American Idol results show performance. He did come into it facing a gang of criticism for his mentoring duties the night before.
Some felt he was too inexperienced to teach this season’s crop of talent anything. With tonight’s performance, he proved he could teach them all how to be dynamic performers!
Adam performed his new single, Whataya Want From Me, from his debut album For You Entertainment. Starting it off slow and dramatic, he then went into full on rock star mode, complete with a laser lights show.
I wish he’s sung acoustically! :( But I LOVED the lasers.
Btw Adam was an amaaaaaaaaazing mentor, the best.
What “gang of criticism”?? There were articles all over the web today praising Adam for his honest, insightful and helpful mentoring. There is no “gang of criticism”. And yes, Adam kicked a*s tonight. He is an incredible, dynamic performer!
“Gang of criticism”, you mean from random basement dweller-haters on the internet? 99% of the media praised his mentoring skills, including TIME magazine.
No, I think she means before they all saw how well Adam did at mentoring. The days before last nights show there was a lot of criticism from mostly disgruntled fans of other Idols and some bloggers. He was AWESOME as a mentor and got tons of praise from all the media afterwards. TONIGHT his performance was Unbelievable, OUT OF THIS WORLD, haunting, emotional, just so beautiful. I LOVED it!
Adam’s performance on Idol tonight was unlike anything I have ever seen! He was f—ing unbelievable!!! He always manages to pull off the most amazing vocals ever, and always brings excitement to every performance. I mean lasers, c’mon, who would have ever thought of that, but Adam? He’s not only the best singer around, but he is a creative genius! (And a gorgeous one at that — he was smoking, hot tonight!)
Don’t know how anyone could have watched and listened to that performance tonight and not thought to themselves “HOLY SH** MAN THAT BOY IS FANTASTIC!!!! Adam just rocked that idol stage right off it’s orbit!! He needs his own TV show and could it please be 24/7 lol!! Great job Adam!!!
It’s very true that since it was announced that Adam is going to be a mentor this week, there were swarm of criticisms by haters. And skepticism from the neutral audience and even some of his fans. Well, he shut everyone up last night with the most refreshingly constructive honesty and on-spot advice. Adam, by far the most natural and helpful mentor to date, also charmed the audience around the world. Tonight, he showcased his strength; impeccable vocal ability, undeniable stage presence and always a new twist to what you expected. He’s done straight up and acoustic version of WWFM, but first for the combination. Also, it definitely was a different performance from all last night and tonight’s performances. Adam, once again brought the breath of fresh air to the show even for just 2 nights, although, his performance actually took my breath away. He proved that he’s an undeniably extraordinary talent, but also, knowledgeable, articulate, genuinely kind hearted and respectful person.
You mean BEFORE he mentored NeonLimelight? ‘Cos he was totally bashed by cynics and jealous fans of other Idols – then after his actual mentoring session, they all hushed, admitting he made an awesome mentor LOL. No BS. REAL TALK, but not harsh either. He kicked a$$.
And got all positive reviews.
Wish he would sing an ethereal song like Voodoo or Broken Open live on TV because that’s when his register sounds amazing.

Adam did an amazing job mentoring and if there were critics then they didn’t see the show! He was completely engaged and bopped along when the season 9ers sang their Elvis tunes for him..so you could see him taking this very seriously. He gave excellent suggestions as well.
As far as his performance–it was another stellar offering from this vocal phenom. His lasers, change up-of the song, outfit, fog ,etc. was nothing less than fabulous.
